  • Palantir IPO.
Biggest Tech IPO in history? $20 to $40B.
Billions of dollars worth of government contracts.
    Another Peter Thiel company.
    Unethical company?

    Just don't mention Edward Snowden
  • How about bitcoin for a speculative punt?  With weakening economies, who knows what currency will come out on top?

Its up 40% from the end of 2019, was as high as £9800 a coin, and now hovering around £7800 a coin, so 20% down on this years high, just like the FTSE 100!

Especially with Mastercard, Visa and PayPal accepting bitcoin, could usage and thus value increase?

SHLL Tortoise Acquisition Corp reverse merger with Hyliion will happen on September 28. Watch out guys, If you got  it  between US$20 - US$25 (the the price a month ago) you must have made around 100% gain by today. Expect this one will increase to become 200%-300% a few days after the merging date. Sell half of it (or even close your position) you already get your money back  + some gain. Use the money to move to another new SPAC project.

The boy has been shouting wolf about the prospects for a LLOY share price surge for so long he's now got children of his own.

It looks like a dead money indeed. But you could at least expect to  move up to pre COVID-19 price, or even the fourth quarter of the last year.

The chance to go Bankrupt is very low, as the UK- government will do whenever it takes to safe them.  So imo it is a safe bet with the current price which is already very low @26.22p. how low they still still go from here ??

    Snowflake yet to IPO.
Warren Buffet is an investor in the company.
Breaking his rules yet again! ("only invest in what you understand")
Maybe it's not Warren but one of his managers.

Another tech one I actually know about
Very very aggressive sales techniques - very similar to Tableau, sell to the business not the CIO
The product itself - cloud MPP database designed by ex Oracle guys, is not bad, but had it's opportunity 3 years ago
As a tech I think it's dead - due to be replaced by in memory SaaS (eg Spark and whatever replaces Spark)

I have been using this Website to monitor the company about to go public

    https://spacinsider.com/

The pro subscription is behind the paywall but you could still peep the info via the headlines and start from there using search engine using ticker symbol and the name of the companies to find further info of the company via other websites.

Please kindly share info if you have other good free websites to monitor the companies about to go public you have been using.

In the past I have seen NASDAQ also publish the list of companies about to go public via its exchange. But some reasons I do not find it very usefull. It might be because it is less focus and too many companies on the lists.

Read today that IPOX released a SPAC Index ETF on 31 July... be interesting to monitor that and its performance relatively to those of us who hand-pick our SPACs.  But I wouldn't want to be suggesting this thread develops a active vs passive side-discussion!  The words "index" and "ETF" are normally a little further along from "speculative" and "punt" right, so maybe I should end my note here!

I'm considering three companies to invest in and would appreciate your opinions please:
    GW Pharmaceuticals
    Beyond Meat
    Tesla (or maybe NIO)
These are all industries that I believe will be shaping our future, I'm looking at long term 5 - 10 years investments.
    TIA

    I have bought
    - Tesla
    - Beyond Meat
    - I used to have NIO, but close all my positions due to admin problem where I was forced to sell it. Not because I do not believe they could not make money. I am still looking for a good Re-entry point.
    - I have not had a look at GW Pharmaceutical. But it is a good start becuase there are a lot of well known institutional investors are holding it https://fintel.io/so/us/gwph. But this one alone might not be enough.
I have not made a solid decision but I might not be holding all of these stocks for a long-term (over 5 years), I might be selling them when I believe, it is time to sell it at all time high so I could use the funding for another speculative punts.
At the moment, I am relying my long term investment on my SIPP which is mainly invested in Index ETF/mutual fund.
My reason / risk attitude might be different with other people, so please do your own due diligence before making your own decision to buy/hold/sell stock for a speculative punt.  The basic principles has always been "you take the gain you take the blame (loss)".

My understanding is the common was released on its own either Wednesday or yesterday, I can't recall.  But is now available on at least the IBKR Group brokers (Interactive Brokers, Trading 212), unwrapped at least, and so I would imagine it's now available elsewhere too.
