I'd imagine 212 make most of their money from "unhedged positions", as 79% of their clients lose money.
The answer may be in their accounts.
Using iWeb or 212 would depend on the size of the trade I'd think. One person caring about another represents life's greatest value.1 -
The spread should be comparable, and certainly negligible to the difference in the currency exchange, and more so when you consider there is no additional commission payable.Michael121 said:
Interesting so say i wanted to buy some individual shares one day would this spread still be less than using like iweb with £5 commission and currency exchange of 1.5%. I can't find no mention of this spread on trading212.Username999 said:Michael121 said:Just looked at this trading212 investing account, it says there is no fees? How do they make money then.
"Revenue derives from commissions and spread paid by customers and from client losses on unhedged positions."

I have been using this Website to monitor the company about to go public
The pro subscription is behind the paywall but you could still peep the info via the headlines and start from there using search engine using ticker symbol and the name of the companies to find further info of the company via other websites.
Please kindly share info if you have other good free websites to monitor the companies about to go public you have been using.
In the past I have seen NASDAQ also publish the list of companies about to go public via its exchange. But some reasons I do not find it very usefull. It might be because it is less focus and too many companies on the lists.

Michael121 said:Just looked at this trading212 investing account, it says there is no fees? How do they make money then.I have no doubt that their main stream revenue comes from CFD division. Invest, ISA division is used to get people through the door to use their CFDs later.I have read some people make analysis about the amount of money the idle cash sitting on their accounts on t he brokers platform. Depending on the number of their clients, you are talking about multi billion £ here. So it might also come from here. This business model is not new. In the UK for instance, "freetrade (with some limitation)" is also doing that.In the US: Robinhood, WeBull.Similarly with other mobile based apps. These mobile platforms will revolutionize the way the people are Trading/investing individual stock (or speculating, gambling in the stock market if you want to call it).It is diappointing to hear the news that Robinhood has canceled its intention to operate in the UK.For those who have not seen it, they have a you tube channel containing a very good Trading/Investing educational videos.
I have been using this trading platform for sometimes and I am very happy with them. My only wishful hope is their charting /analytical tool. I wish they could match the ThinkorSwim like the one available from TD Ameritrade (not available in the UK). But you should not expect too much with a free platform.

"Net-loser game" doesn't mean that everyone loses, it means that the amount of money won by all of them in total is negative. By contrast a "zero-sum game" would mean that the total amount of money won by all of them would add up to zero.adindas said:I agree it involves some degrees of calculated gambling. But what I disagree here is the statement that “guaranteed winner - i.e. those that set it up - and it is therefore a net-loser game for everyone else” Even in the casino, the casino always wins, but not everyone is loser some players still win in the casino.

I'm considering two companies to invest in and would appreciate your opinions please:
Beyond Meat
Tesla (or maybe NIO)
These are all industries that I believe will be shaping our future, I'm looking at long term 5 - 10 years investments.

I saw my Arix Bioscience went up 30% today on a decent interim report June NAV quite a lot higher than share price. That takes them back up to the 100p per share I paid for them in the first week of Jan! I did consider adding at 60p in March or April but kept finding other things I fancied instead. Good potential but they are a fund so unlikely to double in a short space of time - hopefully some more upwards corrections as time goes on.0

The boy has been shouting wolf about the prospects for a LLOY share price surge for so long he's now got children of his own.
