I looked at Hornby a couple of years ago.

    Been unprofitable since 2015

The sales figures mentioned are Q1 2021 VS Q1 2020

I cannot help thinking that Q1 2021 lockdown is the reason for this increase, so is an exceptional event.

Perhaps Q2 2020 will be better than Q2 2021 for same reason?

It actually finished 0.6% down on the day, which is still an outperformance compared to almost everything else listed in London.

Perhaps it's a different investment mentality.  If you own a share that's obscure and high risk, why would you be tempted to panic sell your holding, which for any sensible investor would be no more than a small fraction of your portfolio, at the first sign of a market dip?

"Fox" and "News Corporation" have very different price trajectories over the past 15 months, yet both are operating out of the same address. I can't weigh it up but, if I had to choose, I'd say "Fox" @ sub £25.50 would be the punt.

SHOE was mentioned on here 6-7 months ago, I have a small stake and it has gone up due to the recent retail boom in sales. May it continue running up

However from past experience with stocks, they will start to dip after 12pm after all the new investors have finished dumping/shorting in the morning and probably go back down to 80-75p.  But the only way is up from here with retail opening up.

Will probably take 2-3 years before we see the share go up to 180-200p but a potential, with a move away from home working in the next few years with home fatigue likely.

Today is the worlds first (actually 2nd part of 1st) commercial pour of Graphene enhanced concrete using Versarien Graphene  (who are the only approved Graphene producer in the world at this time)

This concrete is approx 40% stronger and also more environmental friendly - the concrete used is 5% more expensive but means approx 10-20% less concrete needs to be used.

Concrete is the most used material on earth (after water) and twice the amount of concrete is used than all other building materials combined.

Very early days but this could be a game changer (and only one of many other projects Versarien are working on)

Thanks for sharing this. It certainly looks interesting.

The share price has had a terrible ride, dropping from 72p in Jan 2021 to 42p today. Sept 18 it was as high as £1.21

Burning a huge amount of cash

Been a fairly big of director sell quite recently, one single sale of £900K in January

One for my watchlist for the moment.

Ha, yes I have sat all through the highs and lows - this one is very volatile to any sort of news, definitely not one for the steady gains investor.

These are a long term speculative hold that I have sat in an ISA - I believe (hope!) that they will become a multi Billion pound company by the time I retire, in which case I will be wondering what to spend my tax-free millions on... either that or they would have gone bust :)

Guys. Have a look what is going on with AMC, the short squeeze has not even started. I am up 102% just today alone. Mind you this is not investing but speculation, so take part in a speculative move with your own risk. Only take part in speculative move like this for the money you could effort to lose.

Appears if retail investors are now playing musical chairs.
