POD Point seems interesting from EDF, as we are reaching the EV era in 2030, someone's got to charge them. Any thoughts?
IPO is later this year"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

IPO is later this yearI have not looked at POD but EV charging companies especially a good company have market in the US is a no brainer due to the Jo Biden Pledge on ESG infrastracture.if you are looking the EV charging try to research CHPT, BLNK, TPGY. I got all of these stocks at a very good entry point. From What I have learn, If it is an IPO stock (Not SPAC), you should avoid temptation buying it in the first IPO date. Try to observe it from the biggest IPO this yearLook at all of the biggest IPO in wallstreet : ABNB, ROBLOX, Dordash and this year Coinbase.People who bought these stocks around around IPO date regret it know as people now could get at a discounted price.0 -

I fully agree with BABA. IMHO with the current price, it is a steal for a company which is so profitable and so much cash in the balance sheet. Many analysts have given a strong buy and/or buy signal with price target of around $302. People who are into a value stock, looking in to the valuation will love this stock.
I am currently still in red as I have been holding BABA since last year. But I will sell it once they reach ATH.
I just check CHRY - Chrysalis Investment Trust is at ATH. I am not quite sure other people opinion but I hardly ever buy an individual stock at ATH, however good they are. For this I already have index fund to catch this movement.
The money will work harder if you catch momentum of good stock sniping the undervalued stock at a discounted price (BABA in this example ?) and sell it back once they reach ATH or you are happy to lock the profit you have made.
You could buy it back once there is a market correction or a significant price dip during the earning season.

I've held BABA as one of my core holdings since Autumn 18, so while I'm still sitting on a reasonable profit I'm gutted that Jack Ma did something almost as stupid last autumn as Gerald Ratner did 30 years ago.DireEmblem said:BABA - Alibaba Group - $211.64

Of course it will not sink the company, and now trading at a forward P/E of around 20 for a company with Amzn style growth, it certainly looks like a steal right now.“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.” Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway0 -
Upsetting the Party is a major risk when investing in China. Bottom line is that China has a very different perspective of capitalism.Steve182 said:

BABA is on my shortlist, however I don't foresee it will go up anytime soon. They face pressure from several fronts, JD eating its share of the market and lower overheads having control over their supply network compared to BABA who primarily are a marketplace and are vulnerable to counterfeit productsSteve182 said:

Pinduoduo are eating their market share from the discount sector
Profitability/innovation will be an issue as they intend to put all profits back into their business
The chinese government is surprisingly wanting to fight against monopolies and effectively make BABA less profitable, we have seen the action they have taken on their ANT group antics
Lastly their maverick Jack Ma, even the 996 will not take BABA to how they were pre covid.
If anything I would consider investing in more stable Chinese stocks like TSM, but BABA, JD, Pinduoduo would be a punt given they all dropped more than 30% recently.
I think I will stick to my pacific and China funds for more diversity on this one"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

For what may generally be considered a safer bet than the Chinese, Amazon shares are now in "real terms" significantly cheaper than they were 10 months ago.csgohan4 said:

The question is, how much further has Amazon got? But I can see alot of index trackers do have amazon as part of their holdings, because they are stable and generally too big to fail.Steve182 said:
