Well, holding individual share has always been riskier then Index fund. I think everyone who invest in individual stock understand that concept. However, keep in mind it is not taking more risk for nothing. It is about Risk vs reward.

But (the economic theory goes that) the reward of buying a single stock doesn't adequately compensate you for the risk.  Simply buying a single stock exposes you to diversifiable risk, which has no reward.  The efficient frontier is achieved by a diversified portfolio at the appropriate level of risk.  Of course, this doesn't mean you shouldn't hold single stocks, you just need to hold enough different single stocks to achieve a diversified portfolio.  If you believe the research, enough may be as few as 20 stocks.

Volkswagen EUR100 to EUR1,000 in a very short period.

When did the VW share price hit a €1,000 ?

There are a lot of info about VW short squeeze. Around 2008 VW became the most valuable stock on earth for a few days. Keep in mind the chart you see above is not a daily chart, so it does not catch the spike on the particular hours on specific day..
reminds me of the GME and eventually AMC charts

I didn't realise you were going back that far in time.  Thought you meant recently. :)

Was no instant online trading back in those days.

TSLA might be an option, but volatile to say the least. Musk is a maverick. Although you could do worse with EVFM's management.

    EVFM's management ??

The gold price drops sharply as the tech stocks are soaring. Try to do your own DD to see whether it is a good time to buy Gold or to add your Gold holding?

Gold is a well-known, proven method to hedge against inflation which is predicted to rise sharply in the near future. As this is hedging against inflation, this should be for long term holding. Also you might see your holding will be in red for sometimes as soon as you bought it as no one could time the market precisely. But  a good time to buy a good stock/assest is when the there is a price dip.

If you want to buy gold, this Scottish mum produces a good informative video. I have no connection with this person, apart from the fact that I personally find her video is very informative and to the point.

That article was written on the 9th March since which time EVFM's share price has dropped by about 60%. The management is beyond awful and who wants to use a contraceptive that’s only about 85% effective?

As we are back on Pharma, I would suggest Open Orphan (ORPH) mentioned on the BIO thread.  I nearly posted yesterday but some results of a transformational year had gone down badly so was -14% on the day and although I topped up, I didn't feel the love.  Today was back up 10% and I think the future is clearer with some spin offs (1 already underway).  It's not a no brainer, but I always like to have one AIM stock I follow - and this one seems to be better than most - even with all the risks of AIM.    Quite a bullish CEO which has its problems, but is probably better than many alternatives

    BABA - Alibaba Group - $211.64
    CHRY - Chrysalis Investment Trust - £2.14

Just putting in current prices just incase anyone revisits this post to check performance  B)
Since last week when this was posted CHRY is now up to £2.61 which is over 20% in just over a week. Up 131% over the last year and around 230% since I first bought in during last years crash. Certainly the best performing fund I have bought to date and I hope that performance continues.

Mine too. It's up considerably this week on the strength of a Questor tip in the DT, a forthcoming listing of Wise and an uplift in the NAV following a fund raising by Klarna. I'm a bit dubious about the last one as their business model is easy to replicate. I like the fund managers and will continue to hold it although it’s tempting to pocket some profits.

This stock has been posted back a few months ago on this thread. SPCE Virgin Galactic

I had been keep buying it since it was around $17 and keep doing the DCA.

Yesterday it was making a huge run. I just sold it and close my position with around 110% gain.

I will be buying it back when it is making a dip and I could get it around $20..

Making Money from lottery stock is one way to make money in the stock Market. Betting, es but the risk is significantly low when you enter early and just accumulating, keep dollar cost averaging it when it is making a dip.
