Good evening.
I managed to cross a few things off yesterday's list, but didn't do any of today's list 🤦♀️ The kitchen looks okay. I also prepped dinner, hung washing out & then FUPA & vac'd the LR after I finished work.
Tomorrow I need to phone the insurance - we have emergency cover which includes pests - our mouse is getting more & more brazen! I love nature, but not indoors! I also need to contact the vet re grumpy dog's jabs as we have had a letter.
The weather doesn't look good for the next 2 days - maybe it would be a good time to catch up!
I am considering setting the alarm and going for a run in the morning. Don't worry - the feeling will probably wear off by morning! 😂😂
Night night all!9 -
YORKSHIRELASS said:My work routine is all over the place and I am finding it really hard to switch off, cant settle to read so I am wasting time either browsing the internet, reading rubbish on social media or online shopping which I want to stop. Any suggestions (nothing crafty, I will never learn to knit, sew or crochet!!). Wondered about podcasts, audio books send me to sleep!
Excitement of the Mr T delivery today. Still got my favourite apricots at £1 per punnet and they are huge, so I bought extra to freeze, also peaches. It's got into quite a routine now: I bring the bags in from the doorstep, we both start emptying bags with me putting 'our' stuff on one side of the kitchen while Mr N packs our neighbour's stuff back into bags. I write the prices on her list and add it up, Mr N checks it then I text neighbour who we hand the shopping to across the fence.
We then did another routine: cycling up to the tomato farm via tracks and bridleways, takes just over an hour to get there, select from the unmanned stall and cycle back. Some for us and some for out other neighbour.
Had a fairly brief but pleasant visit from a lady I know from when I went to the flower arranging club; I'd emailed to see if she wanted some of my many poppy heads so she came to collect them. Hastily refreshed my flower arrangement in the lounge - not sure why as she wasn't likely to be coming in!
Pulled up the remaining non-productive broad bean plants and weeded the bed, realising as I did so that this time last year I hadn't been able to weed without pain for ages because of my bad shoulder. Touch wood it is fine now. Harvested radishes, baby carrots and lettuce for a salad tea.
Took friend's dog for a walk which turned out further than I'd planned as the track I took didn't go exactly where I expected! Still it was a lovely level footpath through some woods so I will check the map to see how I can incorporate it into a run.
Rang my mum.
Had a Zoom Bible meeting.
So, quite a busy day but not exactly a great deal of proper flying. Forecast is a lot of rain tomorrow so hopefully I can finish the bedroom decluttering........and continue the study.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Evening all. Quite a productive day following the early-morning Gift Aid claim, despite lack of sleep last night:
- stripped DH's bed
- did WMx3 of which 2 went in the TD, the other is waiting until morning
- went shopping for essentials (especially the 99p laces for my walking shoes!) and posted a birthday card
- caught up with some zzz after lunch
- went to a very good Zoom meeting
- took Rosie for her walk
- cooked and ate
- re-made DH's bed
- did some online jigsaws while watching BakeOff
- updated diary
- switched energy supplier
- made a list of people to ring tomorrow.
Now ready to fall into bed. G'night all xx

Good morning all,
Drizzly and damp here, but that will save the watering job that I didn’t want to do this evening.
I have to take DD to the hospital shortly for yet another referral. I am hoping this is just being over cautious, as mentally (especially now with social distancing etc) I am not sure how many more reminders of her fragility she can cope with. Then if all is well, I will drop her home, and go into work.
YL - I listen to loads of podcasts, and as Narc0 said, there are loads for all different interests. Although I get a lot of mine from the BBC, I also use Coffee Break languages (if that is your thing) and also Sleep With Me. I do have to skip the first 20 minutes though as that is designed for people winding down and I am usually just desperate to sleep. DD uses a meditation one. HTH.
Must dash, leaving in 10, need to nag DD along.
Have a lovely day all x8 -

kazwookie said:Now time for a new kitchen light, what is there the sparky condemned yesterday and disconnected! as it was a risk, no lights in kitchen currently, not a major issue at this time of year as it is not yet getting dark until about 9.45pm, so having looked in homebase as it is near by I don't like any of the lights. So what sort of lights to you have in your kitchen as I need ideas, my old house I had a 8foot (I guess) strip light, and love it for the light it gave out, OH tells me they are old fashioned and I need something more modern so I asked what, and he doesn't know, typical, so ideas please ladies or men...............thank you
Went MIA yesterday - mum had picked blackcurrants so I picked through them and jammed them (and it's set REALLY well) and then I had to get my work online and respond to more Seesaw posts. Good morning!
My alarm went off at 7am, but I could hear rain outside so I ignored it! I was, however, up & dressed by 8am, which is good for me on a non-work day! I have had a cuppa and phoned the insurance. They have just called back and we will have a visit tomorrow morning from someone to sort our mouse out. Maybe today I should have a clean of the places he may look, to save embarrassment!
I now need to contact the vets - something I have been putting off as the family are reluctant for grumpy dog to go anywhere near a vet as they are scared about what they will say (ostrich tactics). It makes it difficult for me, as I am then the bad guy that faces reality! He is ok, but getting very lumpy. He also groans as he lays down now, which is not right
Another job on my list is to contact the dentist - I still need to get my tooth sorted from the beginning of lockdown. I think I may need a filling as well, but I am not sure what they can actually do yet. These are all quite big frogs, so it would be good to get them out of the way!
But, first things first...
Round 1
Breakfast
check bank accounts and emails
wash up pots
Have a good day everyone!9 -
Valli thanks re the light, I am lucky the kitchen has a glazed door and window on to the conservatory so the light is good anyway........... I have another look about the internet.Simple things hanging pictures, easy isn't, except when you live in a house where all the walls are concrete so I have just discovered, so everyone will need drilling / raw plug and correct screws etc..........................Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Just having a sit down with a cuppa.
I completed Round 1. Since then I have put the cushion covers in the WM, cleaned 2 sofas & the chair, dusted the top of the bookcase, taken down the 2 plants from the top (1 has been wiped & watered, the other left in the garden to catch some rain - which has stopped! 🤦♀️), cleaned the LR/hall door & doorframe and wiped the handrail & woodwork on the stairs. I have also emailed the vets asking them to contact me. My next move is to move the sofas (hopefully - they are very heavy!) and vac up behind them, clean the windowsill of the bay window (aka fly graveyard 🤢) and at some point sort out the corner where the shoes/bags are kept as that would appear to be the route the mouse keeps taking under the DR door 😱 We have had plenty of sightings of said mouse, but I still have not found any evidence that he exists (ie droppings or nibbled food packets).
Oh, and I need to see to an urgent email from the council, plus finish the SEND report. Busy, busy, busy!!8 -
Feeling shocking today.. I've been up half the night paying respects to the toilet.. on top of my cold and hayfever.
I've hung the washing outside so hopefully that will dry but I do not have the energy to vacuum anywhere least of all the stairs.. Bedroom tidying has been put on hold indefinitely.
