Morning all
Oh for the days of a late wake up and a cup of tea in bed with a good book. Still it is sunny at the moment, I am up with a cuppa (awake at 5am so not as bad as sometimes), and I am reading a couple of chapters of my book before I get on and do something useful. DH has left to take his car to the garage in the big town, and DD (as far as I know) has no plans for the day and is still in bed. The kitchen floor really needs to be done while they are both out of the way, but enthusiasm needs to be built up.
A couple more chapters of my book, and then a regroup to write my list for today, I think.
Have a lovely day all9 -
Morning all. WAC member reporting in - I woke up at 3.50 and haven't been back to sleep at all. At 6.00 I decided to use the time profitably, so I have submitted a Gift Aid claim for church.
Today's plan:
- write a birthday card
- early (for us) breakfast - I can hear DH in the kitchen
- wash and dress
- WM x2 or 3, though rain is forecast later this afternoon and this evening (hopefully that means that I won't have to water the garden tonight)
- empty bins
- hoover and dust downstairs
- essential shopping trip to town, and remember to post card
- planting left over from yesterday
- Zoom meeting 4.30-5.30
- Rosie's walk
Catch up later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx

Good morning!
Paid stuff today. I have walked the dog and put on WM. The kitchen needs a clean up, so I may do that while preparing the little man a snack later. We are currently playing with little penguins figures, so we may read a penguin based book in a mo - Cuddly Dudley is a favourite of mineI need to check my bank accounts quickly first. I must also look at the SEN report I need to update as well at some point - maybe while we are playing in the SH/garden.
Have a good day everyone.10 -

No idea where the morning has gone, but been to supermarket, been to homebase, been to boots for click and collect.Planted sweetpeas which happened to fall into the basket at sm.Spent the rest of morning rubbing down from where electrical conduit was taken down yesterday, filled in holes, waiting for them to dry, then rub down, then paint tomorrow.Tiles for bathroom sorted topps tiles have some I like. Now time for a new kitchen light, what is there the sparky condemned yesterday and disconnected! as it was a risk, no lights in kitchen currently, not a major issue at this time of year as it is not yet getting dark until about 9.45pm, so having looked in homebase as it is near by I don't like any of the lights. So what sort of lights to you have in your kitchen as I need ideas, my old house I had a 8foot (I guess) strip light, and love it for the light it gave out, OH tells me they are old fashioned and I need something more modern so I asked what, and he doesn't know, typical, so ideas please ladies or men...............thank youBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Kaz, I have a strip light for the same reason you gave. My DD has dozens of those little lights set into the ceiling which work for her.
I have checked banking and the long sleeved dress which became short sleeved at the weekend has now become a skirt as it still wasn't right.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
A list was made this morning, and I seem to have done it apart from meal planning and then updating the grocery shop this evening.
Wm x 3 done and dried, bathroom cleaned, ensuite S&S kitchen and utility room swept and mopped. The water was grim, so I really need to do it again, but little chance of that. I have also weeded and planted a bit at the allotment and in the garden. Lettuce in every available space.Doesn’t sound much, but it has taken all day.9 -
My work routine is all over the place and I am finding it really hard to switch off, cant settle to read so I am wasting time either browsing the internet, reading rubbish on social media or online shopping which I want to stop. Any suggestions (nothing crafty, I will never learn to knit, sew or crochet!!). Wondered about podcasts, audio books send me to sleep!
So today was out of the house at 7.45am for a site meeting, back home, pulled pork in SC and on the laptop at 9.30am. Worked until 1pm put a load of washing on, had a bowl of soup then carried on until 4pm. Hoovered upstairs, changed our bed, washing in tumbler, sorted our tea, DW emptied and reloaded. Back on the laptop at 6pm for a meeting, finished at 7pm. Tidied kitchen again, spoke to Mum on the phone then PJS on.
My assistant has a cough, no temperature and not feeling ill but more tired than usual. We havent worked together since March but I sent her home from the office, really hoping its just a cold.10 -
Evening all...I'm here, just not posting as I'm mad busy!
Kitchen, dining room, lobby and hallway all sparkling since the weekend. Made a list of outstanding things to be done in the dining room, decorating and snagging-wise, which is gradually getting smaller but more detailed and have put the pantry cupboard on my list for tomorrow as it's a total shambles in there.
Been officially appointed as the local junior football club's Secretary and a whole ****load of work has been "handed over" this evening! I'm already the Child Welfare Officer, so my workload is set to increase further and more meetings to attend...I now need 36 hours in each day!
And I neeeeed a haircut! Only a week to go until my appointment....yippee!
