Hi Taxi
Good on you buying yourself some trainers. I strongly believe now that if you don't treat yourself it makes the DFW journey so much harder.
If you are going to the gym today, do some walking on the treadmill but make sure it's on an incline as it makes it a little bit more difficult. Cycling is a good warm up as well as the cross training machines, as they work everything. Once you feel fitter you will be surprised that you will be able to do some running. Good luck with it and a really sensible way to approach it.

p.s. well done on the continued no smoking :T I haven't had chocolate since Thursday now, (apart from the choc chips in homemade flapjack do they count  ) and feeling better about it all.Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

Hi Jelly babies..well done on the no chocolate bit..no they don't count in the flapjacks as it has to be a full bar to be counted as chocolate..LOL..glad you are feeling better about it as well.
Thanks for the advice on the gym that's what I'll do today and while I'm there I will book an assessment as well.
Have a good day and I must get my act together and get out of the door.0 -
well done on the excercise taxi - must start mine! Doing ok on tesco diets (I chose the gi one in the end but lots to choose from!) & even better its free & I get a bottle of wine a week in my allowance..must also stop smoking as duty free almost gone....Hat did you do in the gym in the end? A woman in work lst loads just by wlking each eve...dont know about you but being overweight can be hard on the joints so aqua aerobics quite good although never realsed that I could wobble so much! Hello boys n all that!! Keep up the good work & enjoy the trainers - as JB says its about balance & youve got to treat yourself sometimes plus youre worth it!! Hugs for you!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Morning ISOM and all,
Hope you are all well today.Unfortunately I didn't get to the gym yesterday as a friend of mine was shutting her cafe down so I helped her moving stuff about. So was tired and achy by the time I'd done that.
Glad to see you are doing ok diet wise ISOM and I love Aqua anyway...I'm alright with the gym once I start going..it's going that's the problem.
Debt free is definitely about balance I definitely agree on that.
Done my clicks etc etc....am going to knock that Toluna on the head it's useless ..they send surveys loads of them but I get through so many questions and then it says sorry you don't qualify ..What's the point?...the only one I've done recently and got through was a 15000 point one for some hand held scanner thing that I've heard no more about...when I get up to a voucher level I will cancel.
Going to pop to see my mate and to the bank and see if she's finished at the cafe...so not a lot really.
Day 10 of not smoking and feeling great...I'm not as tired now.
Have a good day everyone..take care x0 -
hi taxi,
Sounds like you had a workout moving all the stuff from the cafe anyway:rotfl:
I know what you mean re actaully going to the gym. It's soooo much easier if you have a training partner/gym buddy. Is there anyone who could go with you???
It's unbelievable how you dont want to let the other person down and vice versa and you actually train that little bit longer/harder because there's someone with you.
Well done still on the no smoking0 -
Hi ITBS.....both my daughters work at the gym and usually one of them is in working out and loads of the instructors are working out.
I'm a lazy git..that's the problem and being fat don't want to walk in but there are big people there as well....
It was like a workout yesterday at my mates.I'm definitely going to start going to the gym as once I'm through the door I'll be fine!!!
That's 2 of my mates shut their cafes now...times are hard aren't they?
Will have to catch up on your thread and see how much closer you are to getting your cab.
take care x0 -
I can relate to what you say about not wanting to go in there as everyone else is nice an toned etc.
Mine was the opposite.
I started the gym 8 years ago thinking everyone would laugh at me only being 11 and a half stone and 6 foot. 8 years later Im 15 and a half stone and my body is a temple(sometimes in ruins, and yes nobody worships there:rotfl: ) but seriously most of it is in our own heads. Good thing for you too is your daughters are there so you arent a complete stranger, you willhave someone you know there making it even easier.0 -
I will take the bull by the horns and go as I want to lose some wight for my holiday in january.Must get to the bank or else I'll never get anything done.have a good day0

Hi Taxi, just wanted to say hello and that you are doing fabby on the no smoking front!! Well done!!
The trainers sound lovely! I'm in the market for some new runners, training for RFL in June, have done 2 before but haven't ran in about 18months and am very overweight... Gp would say i have 7 stone to lose but i'd be delighted if i lost 3-4. Have a wedding at end of May, so all efforts being made to lose weight/tone up and look gorgeous prior to that.... not lose much as my dress is my current size but if i lost some weight it would sit nicer, y'know what i mean!?)
Anyway listen to me rambling on! I'll be reading your thread with interest and looking for inspiration! Don't let me down! lolI'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0
