Stuff keeps happening to you, doesn't it, taxi, you've had a real run of awful things. I hope this ceiling gets sorted quickly. Can confirm, tho, that genuine insurance problems do leave you with a room thats decorated rather than a room thats falling apart - always nice! I had a flood in my last house and that was the end result, tho it was a *lot* of stress at the time. Good luck
    xx

hi Taxi - good to catch up with your thread. Hope the ceiling is ok and Halifax realise the error of their ways and send an apology (with a free gift to make up for your troubles) .... well we can dream can't we? ;)

Hi you 2....the guy will find it's genuine as I haven't the time or energy to waste time on fake insurance claims.Don't think they'll pay for decorating as it needed doing anyway.I don't feel stressed about it at all as there's nothing I can do about it and if it falls in it falls in.So it's up to them when they fix it...I'm using their contractors anyway so they'll know it's genuine.(sorry that reads like I think that you think that it's not genuine but that's not what I'm saying IYSWIM)
Halifax realise the error of their ways ...I shouldn't think so..they are so arrogant that I don't even think that they will reply...their loss not mine at the end of the day....if they reply I'll post it on here though but don't hold your breath.
Just waiting for them not to reply then I can contact the FSA.
  • I thought about you today when i was in Morecambe..they have a large Halifax there and were advertising their services, being best for students savers and mortgages..MR.B wondered what i was laughing at!
glad to see you chilled over the insurance as well..i got myself a bit worked up about ours as i hate having workmen in..don't know why, but probably to do with the upheaval of it all.

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

    Morning all,
MMM day off and what time am I up?...going to just chill today if I can....well after doing shopping, filling the car and going to the bank and doing the washing.
I've checked online banking and the MBNA money has arrived so the taxi insurance and car wash can now be sorted...also a few grand left over after that so will put in offset for emergencies.

Sorry about that needed to run to the loo..lol....
I can't move the money into offset for a couple of weeks as my direct debits aren't set up yet.
I hate having workmen in also and hate the mess but needs must.I'll probably start stessing then.
Going to put the washing on in a minute so that's one thing done. The surveyor is coming at 11am ish.
Hoovered the house from top to bottom yesterday, kitchen cleaned, paperwork tidied away and dusting etc done...was knackered..lol...
Hope you all have a good day x

Morning again...just updated my sig as:
    (1) I've just added another £30 to emergency savings in the house.
    (2) Just added the A+L CC to my debt.....sort of feel bad about taking this card but with the Taxi insurance due..that will be about £1000 ish....and getting the yearly car wash which will save a lot of money...I've decided to put the rest in the offset(as soon as my DDs go to A+L) so that will be an emergency fund or stoozed(if I never need to use it for tax)....I'm planning on putting money away every week in the offset for the tax as well as well as bits and pieces....so I think it's an okish idea.
It's hard work trying to work at all these things at the same time but I guess the end result will be the same as I intend to have no debt whatsoever including my mortgage by August 2012.That's the plan anyway but we never know what's around the corner though and I really don't want to be in that position ever again with nothing to back me up.We could have lost everything!!!!
I don't intend having any more credit whatsoever now until the taxi needs replacing and even then I hope to have enough to buy the next car outright but that would be quite hard given I will probably buy another in 5 years.
