On Martin's email (look to the right of the screen and you can open it)
Nat West - £50 if you open and pay £100 a month into it for a year.
Which is the A&L one?0 -
That was £100 for opening their account but not sure if it finished on the 3rd August?..will have a look at the Natwest one thanks x0

Hi Taxi, hope you are managing to sleep better and that this miserable weather is keeping you busy.
The totals are going down and you are almost sub 40K fantastic considering what you have been through recently.
I'm going to start reading your diary regularly and also the ones of your followers....Hypno, Sea, ISOM and gang. I've really fallen off the DFW bandwagon and my totals are rising. Baby steps I think.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Hi Whatatwit..you'll definitely get back into it again as you have took the first step and you are back...so wish you well.I'm here if you need me anytime.
Had a fantastic day today as the weather has been awful...I found a wallet in my car today (the bloke never knew he'd lost it) and I only knew it was his by a photo in it so as soon as I had time I took it to his house and he gave me £10...how's that?..it only had £10 in it but had bank cards and other stuff...With the rain I've had a brilliant take today.
Got my new CC from A+L today with a nice £5000 limit...it's from MBNA so money can be transferred into current account....£4750 winging it's way to my current account...only did it as my taxi insurance is due end of month and am awaiting payouts. Will stooze the rest in my offset where it can act as emergency fund and offset interest on my mortgage.Would be rude not to..LOL...
Think I'm doing the right thing as I cannot leave myself in that position again.Credit may be hard to come by later down the line!!!!..just trying to cover all the angles...
Shut my Halifax card today as well...they said I'm an excelllent customer and I could have more offers..I said no thanks!!!!...so will get the letter in 7-10 days.It was still interest free until december on purchases but they can shove it as far as I'm concerned.
That's all my news for today as boring as it is...ahhh well.
Hope everyone has had a good day x0 -
Good news on the £5k limit, the £10 bonus from the lost wallet, and telling halifax to kindly remove their services :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Thanks was just wondering whether I was looking/using the available credit in the best way IYSWIM.0

I would look at the stoozing board.I think Martin also has a stoozing calculator somewhere on here as well. I can understand you wanting a safety net though especially after the last two months.:j0

Thanks the way I'm looking at this is:
I have no choice but to buy my taxi insurance. If I put it on monthly it is 11% credit charge. So really do need to pay it in full.
I have not had anytime to build up savings as I've really concentrated on clearing debt. This was wrong as I found out to my cost with the accident.
My car wash is £5 a time but if I buy a yearly for £225..I get three washes a week...so a big saving!!!
If I then put the rest into my offset ..it's like having savings ..but I don't want to use them...my tax is due jan and july next year and am thinking of trying to also put £200 per week in there to cover it...all the time this will be less interest to pay on my mortgage...
Also I'm saving bits of money in the house for little emergencies...hopefully won't need that either.
Will pay my other 2 CCs off as much as possible..bearing in mind I still have both sets of loss of earnings and DHs comp and money for radio etc to come in..so that's at least BMI sorted and a start on Virgin( that's interest free until next July).....
The new A+L is 0% until August next year.....I will probably overpay on that too...so in effect peace of mind for a BT fee.
Does this all sound ok?..or am I being silly.0 -
Hi, thanks for the welcome back.
Good idea buying the annual car wash contract, at least then when business is a bit slow, you can get the wash done without thinking there's something better to spend £5 on.
As the heavens have just opened again, I hope Mr Taxi is having a busy evening also.
Nice gesture of the chap to give you £10 for returning his wallet, I do think it's good karma to do things like that. What goes around comes around.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
