Thanks Dragon ..we cross posted there.I do know what you mean about the write off but am pleased they can do it even though it throws a load more fighting up but am happier.Vauxhall said there is a possibility that the insurance will replace the car and bring the invoice back to nil for the old car(so totally paid off) and I just start the payments at the same point as I left this one ie same amount per month for the same amount of months as the car is under 12 months...this is the solution that I would be happy with and think is fair. That is what I'm trying to aim for and I have another couple of ideas....the main thing is I know it can be done so can fight for it if need be.So am feeling more positive and at the end of the day the law says I can't be in a worse position...so I will pursue it...
Oh I hope so Taxi! I just want this to be sorted for you as soon as possible and without you and Mr Taxi being out of pocket at all!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Thanks seaxwyn it will all come out in the wash or so they say!!!...I know it will be ok in the end as I won't let it be any different...I have won two of the battles..her insurance are taking full liabilty and the car is wrote off...that's true about luck..I have had some good luck so obviously was due some bad luck.
I just kick myself for being in debt and on such a tightrope because if I wasn't I'd have plenty in the bank..I am going to build up that offset fund as soon as I can as I don't want to be in this position again.0 -

What a lovely attitude taxi. I'm sure all these setbacks are character building and will add interest when you come to write your memoirs!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hi, long time reader 1st time poster!
You and ITBS and 'busy today mate' have been an inspiration, I only started reading the diaries a couple of weeks ago, so have been catching up with a lot of backlog. It was a great shock when I stumbled across DH's accident, but a relief that he's going to be ok. It's also good to know that sort of thing doesn't happen too often, even though fact your car is on the road all the hours god sends! I've only looked at snipppets for the past week but I'm glad you're getting what you want with the insurance and big :T on passing the test!
As my eyes have been opened to this whole new world that I'd never even thought of before to earn some more money, I wonder if any of you could answer some questions for me? If you feel they are too personal please feel free to tell me where to go! I wonder if you could tell me
1. How much the radio set up costs you per week (I think I saw £70 but can't face checking back every page!)
2. I've gathered that most of you hope to earn £800 per week, could I ask how much of that is take home after business expenses etc.? In my 9-5 job I'm taking home around £300 per week, even 100 extra would be great!
3. How much does it cost to get yourself set up (not including car cost, I realise that's entirely dependant on each person).
4. What is 'settle day'?!
I hope you don't think I'm being too cheeky asking these. I've been looking at HGV driving but this looks like it could be a safer option. I need to be earning more money if I'm going to make some serious inroads into this debt!0
