bloomin eck taxi!
the phrase 'one thing after another' comes to mind
its one that i seem to have to put up with alot and looks like you do too
remember that what goes up(the highs) must come down(the lows) meaning there will be times when things are down but they WILL get back up
it doesnt feel like it at the moment but it will happen
just take the other day, you both had a pass on the exam after your DH had the accident please kick the negatives (and the other driver!) down as soon as you can and make way for the positives
it is hard but it will happen
i do hope that makes sense and helps a little if not let me know and ill send you a funny pic instead or send ya one anyway-its my 'thing' posting pics to cheer peops up!(yeah im a bit nutty i know!)
hugs to you and your DHxxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Chin up you will get there. You will be back earning sooner rather than later.
At least your husband is ok that is the main thing.£2 coin/ £460 -
hey taxi.. you're feeling understandably stressed out but you know as well as anyone that this is temporary and none of it your doing.
Thank goodness for the overdraft. I bet Mr Taxi is so proud of you for dealing with things so capably.... hope he's on the mend. It really shakes your confidence when these things happen.
(a very similar thing happened to my SIL in her taxi cab, 4 way crossroads someone ran right thru and took her with them, right into a warehouse wall. She was very shaken and similar level of injuries as your OH.
But she is still taxi-ing and is fully recovered now. So your OH will too, in time.
Pants re the courtesy car!! talk about adding insult to injury, huh!
I'm in blackpool next weekend, will be thinking of you....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Thanks you two...it's nice to know people care as I feel like I'm slowly going mad!!!!...I know things will get better and be sorted ..it's the insult to injury with the courtesy cab that really pushed me over the edge.Glad your SIL is recovered and hope you enjoy your visit to Blackpool.I will be back earning tomorrow night if all goes well.
Today has been another stressful day....I rang the hire firm to find nobody knew anything about the car being off the road or anything else related to it and the director to whom I spoke was uncontactable so in the end phoned the solicitors and 20 mins later the director phoned ..gave me his mobile number(so that I can contact him if I have any problems) and has promised to deliver another pitted car and a cheque for £100 for inconvenience....before 5pm tomorrow so as long as there are no problems with it then I can earn again..so that will be a problem solved.
The engineer phoned this morning to say that he can justify the car being written off as the repairs will cost between £7k-£8k and glasses book price is only a few pound more....he was checking whether we should go for repairs or write off as it may cost me.I said go for write off as I would rather my passengers be safe..so he is sending the file to the solicitors today.
I owe more that that on the car finance and my solicitor can fight for a few different options as there are laws that say in a non fault accident that I should not be left in a worse position had the accident occurred all this arguing can go on whilst I'm out earning and for each day that it takes for them to make up their minds it costs them £95 per day + vat for the hire car so that's entirely up to them at what speed they proceed. They are already taking full responsibility (they have told me that on the phone twice) so there isn't that time for arguing involved they just have to acknowledge that in writing to the solicitors.
So as long as this car is ok tomorrow we will make some headway.
Thanks to everyone for caring..hope you are all having a good day xxx0 -

Good news about the write off (if you know what I mean), as you say you feel safer knowing you are not driving a car with that amount of repair work on it.
Hopefully things will start moving a little quicker for you now TaxiDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Thanks Dragon ..we cross posted there.I do know what you mean about the write off but am pleased they can do it even though it throws a load more fighting up but am happier.Vauxhall said there is a possibility that the insurance will replace the car and bring the invoice back to nil for the old car(so totally paid off) and I just start the payments at the same point as I left this one ie same amount per month for the same amount of months as the car is under 12 months...this is the solution that I would be happy with and think is fair. That is what I'm trying to aim for and I have another couple of ideas....the main thing is I know it can be done so can fight for it if need be.So am feeling more positive and at the end of the day the law says I can't be in a worse position...so I will pursue it...0

Hi taxi. Well I'm glad things are moving on since yesterday and you should be out earning again tomorrow. I admire your attitude. These things are sent to try us, but just hold on to the fact that in the long run, things balance out and as much good luck gets dished out as bad.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
