HERE GOES...IF YOU ARE STILL WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!
Right the day started out ok ......I went to work and it started okish..then I went to meet the engineer who was half an hour late....it is not clear as yet whether the car will be a write off or repaired....he is going to do the costings tomorrow and then phone me..he said because my car is a high value vehicle it is a very close call but seeing as the value is high it may not be written off.To my mind safety is more important than price and I will await his deciscion and take it from there...I am however going to insist that it is repaired at Vauxhall though(as it's my right to choose where)......as if all this tooing and froing isn't bad enough.
DH takes the replacement taxi out tonight..does one job and the window won't go up and the car won't start so after frantic phonecalls this has now been picked up and taken away to be fixed..off course they will pay loss of earnings but still a long wait...I really am getting !!!!ed off now and feel like burning that !!!!!es house down for putting us in this position!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like I'm losing my marbles here....I have over a grands worth of bills due out on monday..more like 1.5k of bills ....if these problems carry on then I will end up bankrupt....it's bad enough with the credit crunch without all this !!!!....I don't know why I bother being an honest citizen....
    Sorry about the rant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no Taxi! This is not good news for you - hopefully things will pick up soon

  • Rant away. It all helps. Can you postpone any of the bills on a temp basis, until this is sorted?

Aaargh! How completely maddening. Can't think of anything helpful to say except to send sympathy. Who are the bills due to and can you negotiate a late payment this time?

  • Just posting to say sorry its been all bad news and stress today, it definately seems to be when the bad stuff is piled on we get extra toppings to really test us!!!!

Would it help to use your diary to write lists and record dates of happenings, what and who said what? This might help to keep you on track and also off load some things (that you are scared of forgetting or are angry about) off your mind?

    Take care

Here's irony for you...the bills.....Car loan.....council tax..personal loan ,mortgage.gas, electric, phone etc etc and the list goes on....I have never missed a bill payment in my life and won't miss them this month as I have a £5k overdraft available....I'm with the Halifax and they have been cutting peoples overdrafts so am worried mine may get cut..if they do that I'm stuffed....it's upsetting to go in the overdraft but at this moment in time I have £63 in the bank....also the subs cheque is due out another £127 tomorrow.
We would have had all the money if this hadn't happened...I had a lovely immaculate 10 month old car and was plodding away nicely..then a idiot doesn't give way at a junction and causes all this situation....I don't want to have my car repaired as how do I know it's not going to have problems having been fixed.I have so much going on in my head at this minute...I hate that !!!!! for doing this....

aww taxi hang in there me lovely I'm sure you will be OK & that the bank will honour your o/d and even if they didnt you have, as you say, paid all bills to day plus will get compensation so I'm sure it will be ok. Please have an early night, get some sleep & you will feel so much better & able to cope after a good nights sleep. Sure this is also delayed shock reaction & normal when youve had such a nasty shock with such huge implications. The main thing is that you & OH have each other & OH wasnt injured...Huggles for you...

Hi Taxi, I'm not surprised you're furious, anyone would be. How maddening to have to use the overdraft too - what is the interest rate?

I will only be able to meet my bills next month by withdrawing from my ISA, which is meant to be my tax savings. I'm upset about this but glad that, like you, I can keep my spotless record of paying bills on time.

About 18% I think..I know it is high...I have no tax savings left either and is another worry i n the background...but not an urgent one at this time. These things are sent to try us and I'll get there but it's totally draining me at the moment.
ISOM DH was hurt he was knocked out and has whiplash and bruising..I haven't paid the bills today they are all due out in the next few days. The loss of earnings is huge so far...just from weds-sunday night...£900 ish and then at least another £100 tonight [plus £200 ish for both shifts tomorrow)...we will have to wait months for that...the temp taxi breaking down has also compounded the problem...I cannot sustain these losses for long.
  • I think you would have had a letter about overdraft if this was the case, taxi. so i assume it will be safe to say use your overdraft and even if you have to wait for the money you know you will be able to clear it with the extra coming.
I have just noticed that even though you are distressed , as ever, you manage to post lovely comments on folks diaries. You are an absolute star, so i just wanted to say have a peaceful night.
