  • After long stressful wait we finally got our mortgage offer today! Don't lose hope people!
    Our timeline:
    29/08 - full mortgage application
    04/09 - desktop valuation
    22/09 - requested September payslips
24/09 - went to UW queue
29/10 - after many chasers and escalations by MB offer received!

We didn't get any queries from UWs as our case was pretty straight forward, both employed, nothing bad on credit history :)

Congratulations! We are similar timescales and are now just awaiting for our valuation before the offer can be sent out. Good luck with your move :)

No update for me yet folks, we sent our application on 30/09 so could be any day now as that's the review date on the website....! Our MB said they had asked a couple of questions, however he didn't need to come to us for the answers so the q's must have been straightforward. Slightly unique but not uncommon position, I'm the sole applicant (husband is currently furloughed) and have two incomes (one FT job, plus additional SE income from freelance teaching) so not sure if that'll be a flag but we are only looking for 57% as we have equity and a deposit. Fingers crossed! Congratulations to those hearing and getting approved! Hope for the rest of us...!
Hi, fingers crossed you hear soon. Our application went in on the 1/10/20, we are supposed to have an update in 5 working days. But we don’t like to get our hopes up. Ours is tricky though as both self employed, but the business is doing great and grew through covid. The wait is killing us.
Definitely fingers crossed for both of us! MB said yesterday it is still with the underwriter and that they haven't requested any documents yet... so I'm wondering if it might still be a little while! He thinks we'll hear in the coming days, but I'm not sure how 'coming' he means...!

    Congrats!
So we're going to have to wait another couple of weeks for our formal offer as the valuation isn't being done until 9th Nov and it's going to be a physical one. The lady at santander told me it was being done yesterday but it must have been when they passed it to the valuation company 🤦

Are you HTB/FTB? Cant believe some people have 8-14 day turn around and others waiting over a month.

Congratulations! We got our offer today too - application went in 03/09.  Bit of a stressful wait tbh so it's a relief now isn't?! It hasn't quite sunk in yet though as we have been so used to disappointment at 5pm when working day over and we hadn't heard anything!!

We sure are, roll on 2 weeks!
  • We are FTB, the waiting times do seem very random!
