Good News and my Journey so far!
I am here to encourage someone out there. Do not give up, do your best, be positive and pray to God for better success.
I am a FTB with HTB.
I did my first mortgage application with Halifax in February and after series of unnecessary questions and doing 4 checks on me because i saw all those on my credit report, this bank declined me first week in May (Imagine the long period of anxiety wait)
A week later, my MB found another lender, TSB and we made another application (my credit score was still in Green band), this lender did only 1 soft check and 9 days later TSB declined my application. I was shattered because our new house is due to be complete on June 18th. ( Remember i said earlier over some weeks ago that my conveyancer has given me the house contract to sign and both her, me, the house builders and my MB are very hopeful that i will get the offer because my records were staright- anyway we all acted in FAITH).
Then on 10th May 2021, the MB said she has found another lender, Santander.
The Timeframe of event:
12th May (Santander did a soft check for AIP)
17th May (Hard check/Full application)
19th May (Valuation instructed)
24th May (Valuation done with a private company, not supplied by the lender, my MB got them for me)
27th May (Santander requested for an addition information on my New Job Contract Letter)
2nd June (MB escalated and Santander emailed to say yes they are aware of my June 18 House Contract Exchange date). This really made us to be more positive and hopefully
7th June (Mortgage Offer confirmed)
The essence of this long epistle is to ask you not to give up hope. I have heard people say when you apply closely after you were declined, it may be a RED flag on your application, but not in my case. Just keep calm and remain positive.
The builder just confirmed that the house key will be ready in 10 days time and i am extremely so so excited.
I wish you all well and very soon you will rejoice and be free from this anxiety of uncertainties.
This week is our week of GOOD NEWS
Thanks
God bless you all for reading!

It’s £5,000 less than Santander offered on DIP but we decided we are happy to find the £5k elsewhere to avoid anymore stress 😂I'm also at the stage now where I think we're best applying elsewhere alongside this one as the vendors are getting anxy since we're holding everyone up.I have an excellent credit score so I don't think we should have a problem with that. Our only worry is finding somewhere that will accept self employed mortgages at this time on 15/20% deposit. Most are wanting 25% which we simply cannot do0

Hi everyone - we’ve got a mortgage with Santander and we’re due to complete next week - just wondering if anyone had a second credit check just before completion (transfer of money) from Santander?
thanks in advance!0 -
I'm starting to get annoyed now. My searches are due to come back on the 14th as advised by my solicitor.
We are waiting for lease information from Land registry for this property to proceed with enquiries etc.
It was requested on the 24th of May and still no light about these documents surfacing.
Anyone else had an issues getting documents from Land Registry?0 -

We've been chased by the vendors estate agent today and we're getting concerned they're going to pull out on us and go to the next offer because they don't think were in a position to buy. Despite our house now being sold! It's all a mess. I just can't believe we have an underwriter who's taking almost 2 weeks between each comms.2
