Santander mortgage timeline

All the documents and information requested by the UW have been provided but they came back again to ask for confirmation of ongoing working arrangement in 2 different ways which triggered a complaint from the MB. 
MB complained to Santander last week and the case has been passed to senior management for review. 

We applied on 23/04/2021, lots of silly questions and back and forth. I can't believe this level of abysmal service from a mainstream bank.

I’ve been waiting 6 days upto now. When did you get accepted?

We got accepted this morning hope it’s not to long to wait

We heard from MB this morning that Santander have been sat on our company accounts statements for a week and have only just questioned a furlough claim, whether it's for directors or employees. We've gone back saying employees and Santander have said another 6 days before we hear again - so next week! This is a joke, it really is and I'm considering scrapping them off altogether and going with someone else because their service is appalling!!

Apparently we may hear on Wednesday as they are waiting for the valuation report to get to them although the property had been valued in our previous application on the 26th April. When we cancelled that offer they said they wouldn’t need to re value the property as it’s within the 6 months. So I have no idea if Santander are just telling us porkie pies. As I’ve spoke to the lady we are buying the house from as it’s a private sale and she said no one been in contact with her to value the property again.

Our offer came in the post today! Unfortunately it’s for £18,000 less than the AIP though ☹️ 

My MB escalated my case on Thursday and I received confirmation email on Friday that the offer has been issued.
I received the full amount and we are completing on 25th June.

That's great news, I guess all your searches/enquiries etc have been done?

Yes, we did the application in with the solicitor work.

So after 5 weeks of to-ing and fro-ing with Santander to no avail whatsoever, last week we applied for another mortgage along side this one and today it got accepted....less than a week!! Good luck everyone who is still waiting  and if you have the opportunity to not go with Santander I highly recommend it 😂

Mortgage approved this morning. Offer emailed to broker at midday. By 1pm I had received a barrage of emails and logins for Santander’s free legal conveyancing service for the remortgage. So it took 4.5 weeks start to finish to get the offer. I’m absolutely delighted. Big relief. Won’t be satisfied till it’s actually excited though! Read my long post on page 356 for full details of our application.

Coventry Building Society! It’s £5,000 less than Santander offered on DIP but we decided we are happy to find the £5k elsewhere to avoid anymore stress 😂
