right back from school drop off (had to fill in medicine form for DD1) popped to shop to get veggies and meat for tonights roast. Have bought brisket - never used it before but thought nothing ventured nothing gained. Want to do it in the slow cooker but not sure whether to put it in liquid or not, the couple of threads i found are conflicting.
Kettle on so once boiled I shall crack on. WM finished so dark load to dry but will be inside on the airer as raining here and looks set for the day. Got driving lesson this pm whilst DD2 is at nursery so need to crack on. Pleased with what I have achieved so far this week and have managed to do the deep clean jobs so should be all ready for the decs to go up at the weekend and Mum to visit on monday!
Any tips on the brisket front??0 -
Morning ladies it is vile out there.
Plan to try harder today. I have stripped our bed so now going to have a mad dash round until 10:00 then off to get the parcel/visit shoe sale/buy grandma birthday cards and then back here to fly fly fly.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Planning on fairly easy day today, but then the bedroom is pretty tidy anyway so not that much to do. Off out to lunch and then to midwife so afternoon is spoken for anyway and my Mam wants some stuff ordering from the internet this morning.
Got a fair amount of ironing and baby clothes to sort through though - must make that a priority today.
Wednesday - Master Bedroom & Landing
Level 1
Remove and wash bed linen.
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
15 minutes floordrobe clearance
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Wipe door handles, if the frames and doors need wiping do them too
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more- 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
- Spend at least 10 minutes clearing a hotspot
- Clean windows in these rooms
- Remove what is hidden under the bed, vacuum under it and replace the stuff a bit more organised
- Clean your headboard on your bed, the rest of the frame too if you're feeling brave

AnW's mum - you are so right! When I wanted the decorating done I got the paint and stood looking at the wall as if I didn't have a clue where to start. Next thing I know the room is decorated! DH has an irrational fear of me doing any DIY...if it mattered to me i'd argue but funnily enough i've quite happy no to do it!
Pigpen - how do you lose two trees that size!
Hypno - the first week is the worst because you're doing everything from scratch. In theory (!) it gets easier because from week two onwards you're just redoing what you've already done - I did say in theory! Have a good day.
I did a quick client this morning and have a two hour one at 1130. That should give me an hour this afternoon to sort the master bedroom. I've only got the brownie run tonight and I need to get to the shops for a few basics. I'm also going to do a five minute fling in the kitchen as that's where our 'rubbish' tends to accumulate.
On a good note the bank refunded £150 of charges it put on our account last week. DH's salary got delayed due to a mistake at work so we went OD. We got £150 of charges within a 24 hour period but they've been put back in the account so i'm happy now.
Speak soon xxJanuary budget

Morning all
Rained like mad all night and really windy, now it's more showery with some brightness in between but definitely not safe enough to hang washing outside. So that's draped round indoors, after I put yesterday's away.
Made a cottage pie for dinner and prepared carrots, then S&Sd the kitchen. Tidied up living room and damp wiped. Did all the bedrooms yesterday.
Glad I went to post office yesterday, I reckon I'd get soaked if I tried it today.
Wrote a letter to put in with one of my Christmas cards. I'm planning to post them next Monday, they're all stamped and ready to go.
We're going to my sisters' on Friday for the weekend so tomorrow I will be sorting out a bag of stuff to take (clothes) and must remember Christmas present/card etc. Hope it doesn't pour with rain all weekend.0 -
I need a kick to go S&S living room and kitchen, load TD and have a stern look at christmas decorations that are still sitting in boxes in the living room.
I'm also nasty, that car from yesterday is there again and it has no road tax... so i reported it... I wouldn't normally but the guy is a turd.
I really need to do some ironing today, or put the clothes back in the TD for 15mins... I may do that and iron only the shirts... I feel lazy! And my throat hurts.
Has anyone seen any Harry Potter Wand sets in stock anywhere? they seem to be like gold dust right now! The one with the prophesy ball.
