Oh Greenbee - I don't have many carbs so maybe the cream is ok? An excuse is what I need. No im going to enjoy it while it lasts as i love raspberries and cream! Sorry Brambling its got to be fresh double cream and from W@itrose too! (im a fuss pot).
Anyway Im going to get my recumbent exercise bike sorted this weekend - this means sorting the room of doom which entails DH's input. Hopefully that should burn some calories and build up my stamina ready for Puppy's arrival in 6 weeks x
Hope you have a good evening xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9 -
Day 1
Exercise:

I spent the day in the kitchen cooking. My meals went according to plan (swopped the chocolate bar for a small slither of chocolate and coffee birthday cake with a small dollop of clotted cream both of which were heading for the bin at work if I hadn't so graciously rescued them yesterday
(I can't abide food waste, particularly of the sugary kind ). It was a very eye opening experience to become aware of just how many times I went to pop a small piece of food in my mouth, cooking a lot means I'm constantly tasting the things that I'm preparing. Becoming aware is the first stage to stopping the habit.
Have a lovely evening everyone.

OK so I'm back reporting on my food, otherwise too many unmentionables slip in between meals. I am a big eater while I cook - so I try to keep it to vegetables, melon, carrots, green peas, or whatever is around really.
Today:
B Apple, musli and oats and barely any coffee grr
L: had two lunches as was on screen all day but in all 2 slices of white bread 1 w hummus and tomato, and one w goat cheese and pesto.Veg chili s cheese and rice
Sn : I'm about to go and have some melon, as went a bit light on the chili.
Exercise: 4 M run and a stroll around the green w dog.
Will read closer above about eating a greater variety of vege and greens! I think that makes a lot of sense.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hello all, not been around in a while, things are a bit crazy and I have redeployed as a covid 19 tester! And that will be my job role for the forsable future. Some of my workmates are off furlough and putting systems in place to start work, I met them for a socially distanced lunch break, everyone commented on how much wieght I had lost - not seen them in months, and for the first time in 15 years I am wearing a size 12 top!! I work 4 days on 4 days off, on my days off I try to walk 8 - 11 km weather dependant. I try to keep my step count up on my working days but as I am unable to wear my fitbit for my 7 hour shift don't get an accurate reading!! I started in September 2019 as a size 20 so am well proud of my achievements and the fact that people I have not seen in lockdown were so supprised with my size is a boost.
I get a free packed lunch when I am on shift, not what i would choose to eat but I use this as my main meal of the day and eat somthing lighter for for breakfast and tea! I am not plant based at the moment as the vegan sandwich provided is not somthing I would not eat ( fake meat - I was brought up not to eat meat - so fake meat is not somthing I can deal with). I am eating cheese sandwiches but still,a looser despite not having a set of scales!
Good luck to all of you.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"8 -
Good Morning all,
I do hope everyone's first day went well.
I totally agree about concentrating on nutrition over calories whilst dealing with any serious illness, chemo affects people in so many different ways. I think the most important thing is to listen to what your body wants, ensure you are taking a good multivitamin with high dosage of vitamin C and think about supplementing with something to support your gut microbiome I would also make sure you do a lot of broad based research on any form of fasting. I have read in numerous articles that women have to be careful how long they fast as anything longer than 12 to 14 hours can have an impact on our hormone levels, in particular our repressing our reproductive ones. Perhaps not an issue for some of us 'oldies' but I always think its so important to research as much as we can before we dive in.
Todays Menu:

Well I don't quite believe it - another cancer referral in the offing - another 2 week wait. Reaching for the raspberries and cream - with a sprinkling of sugar on!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Thinking positive thoughts for you Molly
a little cream won't hurt and shouldn't undo all your hard work so far
That's an impressive drop in size SillyVixon I know you've worked hard for it. Are you happy with where you are or are you looking to drop another size? I'm generously built so other than shops which cut generously (white stuff and Sainsburys T Shirts) I don't think I'll ever be a 12 up top they are the last place I lose weight from and the first place it goes back on, makes it impossible to buy things like a pair of pjs as I'm usually at least 2 sizes bigger at top
Just the usual work day here, I did cook some little meatballs, pork and vension with sage and grated apple before work, I've put them in the fridge in the hope I can persuade my mouth to snack on them rather than anything full of calories when i get the urge to pick. I'm trying to start the new challenge on the right foot
I did stand firm today and had a 'no those are my holiday dates even if I stay at home and potter' conversation on a call this afternoon. I need time away from work and other than bank holidays it will be the first this year (after christmas i booked a week at the beginning of August and two weeks at the beginning of September) my American colleague couldn't understand why I didn't want to stay and work as 'you can't do anything so what's the point of taking the time off' the company aren't paying overtime at the moment and we didn't get a pay rise so I'm determined not to give them my holiday as well. It looks like the go live date of the project I have been involve in will be early September, not that any of us are holding our breath on that actually happening as it is already more than 8 months late. But if I'm having a stayation I want one with a small chance of some sunshinerather than all of November
B - overnight oats with strawberries
L - LO seafood risotto and hard boiled egg followed by cooked gooseberries
D - haddock with new potatoes, runner beans, wilted spinach and chard
S - nothing yet but the evening is still youngLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin10
