Brambling Thank you so much for setting this up. Despite the fact that I failed miserably at the last challenge (I'm heavier than I started it
) it would've been a lot worse without you lovely lot to vent to.
Ideally I'd like to lose 2 stone before having to try to don a party frock in October but I figure that keeping it doable will make me more inclined to stick to it so could you please put me down for 14lb
All aboard Sirens' shiny new wagon!!
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx7 -
Morning Losers.
All this talk of wagons reminds me of something that I may have posted before, or it may have been on another forum, I am easily confused these days.
Anyway, for what it's worth, here it is again, or for the first time. Whatever.
Not only did I fall off the diet wagon, I dragged it into the woods, set fire to it and used the insurance money to buy cupcakes.
I, myself am being so good it would make you sick. I am! Honestly! And I don't even have a curl right in the middle of my forehead.

Hi all. I haven't posted for a week or so as I returned to work last week. Bit of a shock to the system but hoping to lose weight a little faster in July due to walking there and back, 2 miles each way.
Please put me down for 14 lbs, Brambling.
Since my last post I've lost another 2lbs, so still going in the right direction. OH still not noticed a thing!
Have discovered a new dessert. Take one meringue nest, fill with fruit ( I have successfully used frozen raspberries or tinned mandarin segments) and put a large dollop of low fat Greek yoghurt over the top. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts or similar. Total calories about 110, but it tastes far more gluttonous! OH even requested one yesterday.

Actually, please make that 15, Brambling

I also like to add a tsp of lemon curd to the Greek yogurt, it's worth the extra calories 😁
Can i suggest a trip to Barnard Castle for a eye test for your OH 🙄Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Brambling - 😂 lol, yes, I reckon I'll send him! I am now also tempted to procure some lemon curd when at the shops next.8

Good Morning Lovely Losers,
I was considering calling myself Lockdown Lardy rather than Nana Nibbles! I've been locked down with my dd and family for 3 months and there is tempting food everywhere I look as my daughter is trying to 'bulk up' but I seem to be doing that for her. My main stumbling blocks appear to be :
I love food
I love to cook
my massive portion sizes
all things sweet
my constant nibbling ...
other than that I'd say I'm pretty good
But it stops today.
For me planning and prepping is the only way to go so I'll be posting my meal plan in the morning and then likely 'fessing up to the off-plan Nibbles in the evening
I aim to ease myself into this gently so I can see what works for me. It will be vaguely calorie based (in that I will guesstimate what I don't know) with an aim of around 1750 calories a day as I'm looking to lose half a pound a week and restricting causes me to binge eat. One thing I do have in my favour is that I'm rarely sat down. I may be the fattest I've been in 17 years (since I lost my pregnancy weight) but I'm probably close to being my fittest. To counter-balance the high calorie intake I have to burn off a minimum of 500 calories in exercise, which I ordinarily do walking up and down the hills around me early every morning. My main stumbling block seems to be my unconscious nibbling so I'm going to try very hard not to eat any unplanned snacks.
Meal Plan:
B - porridge, banana, nuts, seeds, almond milk, berries (a daily staple for me)
S -piece of fruit
L - hummus and salad sarnie on seeded brown bread
S - piece of fruit
D - cauliflower and green bean biryani with popadoms and mango chutney
S - chocolate bar
Good luck everyone on your journey and thanks for letting me climb on that wagon.

Good morning, friends old and new!
Just looking in to say I’m reading along but don’t plan to comment until my weighing-in day on Sunday. I’ve some comfort-eating demons to fight off, so while you are off on the waggon singing merrily (it’s beginning to sound like a charabanc!) I’ll be doing that, before running to catch up.See you soon, folks! Best of luck on the journey!“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Hi all and welcome bargainhunterss 👋
Well, I start this challenge with a mini milestone... I've weighed this morning and I've now lost 60% of the weight I have to lose.
I'm starting chemo in 2-3 weeks so I honestly dont know how that'll affect me weight wise. I know the weight loss wont be my top priority for a while, but I dont want to lose the ground I have gained. Lots of people report nausea and taste changes. Sometimes they give steroids alongside chemo so that might affect things too. Who knows?!
I've been reading some compelling research about fasting around the chemo day - 48 hours before and 24 hours after. Seems your own cells go into 'protect and repair' mode and dont reproduce. Whereas the cancer cells are severely weakened by the lack of glucose as they use a lot of it so they are half starved when the chemo hits. The trials they have done so far show you get more effect and less side effects, but they lack a big clinical trial on humans so it's not mainstream (yet?). It's very interesting and I'm inclined to give it a go as I have the weight to spare. I think there is an element of the fasting being something I can action to help myself in the middle of a very out of control episode in my life.
So, this week I'm flexing my fasting muscles by dwindling off my caffeine (I'm an addict!) and reducing my eating window to 6 hours daily so that'll help.
Todays menu:
L butternut soup, 25g cheese, apple
D sausages, roast butternut and peas, little portion mustard mash. Orange.
I used to get emails for the last thread but I cant seem to work out how to get them for this one. Can anyone help?
Have a good day all. 🌻A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks10
