Im posting to be accountable too Cranky x
Well done to those who have lost or STS and commiserations to those who have gained X
Me - well Im studiously avoiding the scales until next Friday - can't get away with it any longer as GP want s my monthly WI and it's already a week later. Im finding scales too triggering atm.
Im keeping up with my cycling and am now on Bella by Jilly - which Im not enjoying quite so much. Still eating raspberries and cream - ground hog day?
Anyway hope you all have a good weekend xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.12 -
Hi all. Well, I am amazed - and delighted - to report I have still managed to lose 1lb this week, despite several aberrations of a biscuit nature and having to drive to work most days. Looks like my stair climbs to Everest base camp the HR office at work did the trick !
If I lose one more lb I shall then be in the next "stone zone". I hereby pledge to walk to work and back every day next week. After that school is closed and I will have to go for walks or bike rides to get exercise.
OH still oblivious, and I have now lost a whole stone. Tbf, nobody else has commented yet, either, so maybe it's not enough to be noticeable yet.
I almost fitted into my size 14 work trousers this morning. I
have devised a new system for my wardrobe. I found a load of coloured sticky dots in a drawer yesterday. I have started to stick a dot on the hanger of each garment in my wardrobe:
Green - fits now
Yellow - almost fits, will fit soon
Red - much too small, won't fit for a while yet
I will try on the yellow/red things once a fortnight and enjoy changing the sticker to green/ amber.
I might also put the blue dots on things that I should wear out before they become too big!!!!12 -
Hello All
I have just caught up on all the posts, weighed in on Thursday this week, a day late but am happy with my loss of -1lb.Have been a bit hit and miss with eating this week, good intentions in the morning, petering out by the afternoon 😐
dh requested chocolate chip cookie bars and whilst I tried to abstain...the force was too strong. Next sunday is ds 13th birthday he has requested chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream icing and there will be a takeaway so need to be extra good up until then.
meals today
B orange

d wild rice, veg (I fancy sprouts) and smoked fish.

Stuck the fasting out til 7pm - that's 73 hours. Felt like enough. Have eaten: a marmite toast, chicken and chorizo bake (mostly veg) with greens, banana and live yogurt, finishing it off with a tin of Heineken... no apologies!
Main thing is I've proved my ability to do it, in advance of the treatment, so another little mission accomplished!
Weigh in and catch up tomorrow. ☀️A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks13 -
Congrats on the fast @tighteningthebelt. I'm impressed. I keep thinking about doing a 24hr fast, but never quite manage it. I need to get back to my 16/8 routine, as it definitely suits me better than the erratic eating i'm doing at the moment. I'm at the top of the 3kg variation I allow myself, so am trying to get back onto the low-carb/TRE system I was on before - with a couple of 800 calorie days to kickstart back to where I need to be. So far I've managed 3 days of proper meals in addition to the rubbish...
Apparently low carb is good for fatigue, but ironically when you're fatigued toast and chocolate is clearly the easiest option! I do want to try and see whether it improves things, as it may well be the reason I've managed fairly well do far. That and the fact that I don't have any more wriggle room for the scales to go up!12 -

Evening all 🙂
Well done to all you losers and anyone else well done in weighing and keep going 👏. Draw a line under this week and start again
TTB I'm glad you listened to your body and ate, but I'm impressed how long you were able to fast
i hope the new job goes well Cranky
i like the idea of colour coding clothes Ouraggie it's really annoying to suddenly realise you have missed you window of opportunity with clothes which go from too small to too big 🙂 a few more lbs and you're be in those trousers.
I've loads of very small runner beans the biggest of which is about 2 inches so a little while longer but I've been picking French beans and we won't talk about courgettes 🙄
i worked this afternoon but did manage a 4 mile walk this morning when I went to the chemist and walked the long way home via town where I picked up some local black currants and cherries in the farmers market, the town was full of people this morning so I didn't stay long it was more just a walk through it. I had a nice but very long gossip with a neighbour when I got home and also discussed unicorns 🦄 and fairies 🧚♂️ with her four year old who is planning for her birthday in a couple of months. Unless things change she wouldn't be able to have friends around for a party as mum is shielding as a transplant recipient
L - beef and salad wrap with home grown rocket, landcress and spring onions
D - LO roast beef dinner from yesterday- I wasn't sure what time I would finish work so made enough for two dinners

Good morning all,
I’m afraid I was missing in action yesterday as I was getting myself settled into my housesitting job which I will be doing for the next 3 weeks. Food wise it was rather a train wreck Im afraid as I had no time to prep or meal plan so ended up mainly porridge, possibly a jar of peanut butter which is a trigger food for me and copious amounts of chocolate. I have now moved all the trigger food in the house to the far end of the garage and have got my meal plan more together. I did however manage to counteract it to some extent by having a blinder of an exercise day which led to me burning over 1000 exercise calories which involved my early morning 5 mile run and 8 miles of walking the dog. No more hill running for me for the next 3 weeks, its as flat as a pancake round here.
Ditty1234 - don’t beat yourself up - Im so with you on the portion size and weight is never linear - up and down is the way we all travel.
Bluedoggy - I could eat porridge, breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes do
We must remember to listen to our body and stop to rest when it tells us.
TTB - you’ve done so well with the fasting. I think I would be driven to despair - although I know it is mainly psychological but the thought of not eating for 3 days and 4 nights would fill me with fear.
Roundtuit - I’m feeling you, as I’m sure we all are. I think the chubsters I’m hanging round with are magnetic and I’m the magnet - no matter how many times I manage to pull away from them I eventually find they have stuck back right on. You could try a few weeks maintenance, that may help to redress the balance.
well done on the 1lb down Monnogran. I’m all on board for mindful eating which works for me until I’m in that crazed zone where everything becomes a haze of what can I put in my mouth next and anything mindful all goes to pot - must try harder
Cranky40 -great going on giving up sugar. I know I can do it, as I often do it for lent but then go crazed afterwards and eat everything that I would have eaten over the time period I gave up! Saying that I do have a bit of a headache this morning as I over indulged last night.
Keep up with the cycling Molly41 and perhaps you will be in for a pleasant surprise on the scales, otherwise just put it down to muscle mass gain
Well done on your losses Sirens and ouraggie and everyone I haven't had a chance to mention - I love your colour coding system ouraggie, very organised of you. I wouldn’t have enough clothes to organise I have to say.
Well done everyone for sticking around and not giving up, I think that’s the hardest things when life gets in our way and we’re not travelling the direction we wanted. Special thanks to Brambling for doing the hardworking and keeping up the admin on this - you are very much appreciated
Today is my day of rest from exercise although I will be taking the dog for 3 walks and the house that I’m house sitting in is mahooosive so I’m sure I won’t be short of some exercise calorie burn.
B - Porridge and bits
S - Melon
L - hummus and salad sarnie (my go to)
D - Chickpea and squash tagine with couscous pomegranate and herb couscous/quinoa
Have a great Sunday peeps.

Morning xx
Day 1 = 1428 calories. I very nearly deroaded myself at 9.30 pm when I decided that a packet of Jaffa cakes was needed. Luckily there was only one packet in the cupboard, which is for DS and GF to devour today, so I PUT IT BACK!!! and came back to watch Young Montalbano empty handed (= empty mouthed). I read somewhere that will power is finite and gets used up through the day, so we are more susceptible to 'slips' in the evening than we are in the morning. Makes sense to me - I'm not even remotely interested in Jaffa cakes this morning. Porridge with bits has my name on it for breakfast - but I do like to savour my brew first.
nananibbles - your magnetic chubsters made me smile. I can feel mine clinging to my abdomen as I write. ( oh gosh, I now have the image of giant jelly babies magnetically attached to me - I'll be having nightmares next!)
Have a good day. Stay safe.
