  • Thanks foxholes, I think we will get there I just need OH to enforce in the same way that I do! Will definitely do the citrus thing as this has worked when we wanted him to stop chewing wires when we first brought him home :)

My cats never learnt that sniffing candles resulted in loss of whiskers.  They were amazed every single time.  For 10 years.  Furry idiots.

  • Morning everyone, I haven't had any NSDs this month as been doing top up shops everyday at the local Coop but today will do a bigger soopermarket shop & i too need to buy a cat scratching post.  I won't be going in any pubs and my hair appointment isn't till 20 July :( I have paid some money towards my self assessment which is normally due by 31 July but we have till 31 Jan; will try to pay it on time so it's out the way.  DD1 finished term yesterday and got some luxurious gifts including Jo M candles and £50 voucher for the shop that does those lovely adverts at you-know-when ;)
I've been lying in bed reading my book which i'm really enjoying - not read anything for a few weeks but enjoying the escapism of life in 1612.  Thanks for the Pepys quote mothernerd
wishing all turtles a restful Saturday

Mothernerd - dh showed me that quote this morning too! I find it quite appalling that A+E have to prepare for an big influx of alcohol-filled twits over the weekend... Although that is probably what they used to do pre-covid anyway...

I was reading a story on fakeb00k yesterday about a s e x festival being cancelled due to lack of social distancing. Wonder if that was in Le Shire :joy:

The festival to which you refer has been held for the last 2 years in Malv3rn - close to where my DH works - previously it was held in this county - caused quite a scandal in the local rag! :joy: - I was away one weekend when it was on and hit teh papers and my mum asked me the following week to check I hadn't been there!!! :joy:

Whoops - missed a few days already! NSD on teh 2nd and should be one today. Not one yesterday - emergency dash to Tesc0 last night for blisters plasters for DS2 who is doing a DofE walk today and they are a have-to-have item in his kit. We had some, but could anyone find them last night....? - no - they were found around 10 minutes before he had to leave the house this morning - grrr! However, I was at Tesc0 at the 'right' time and got a large organic chicken reduced from £12 something to £4.30, so that was good :) Scored some 11p baguettes, too - and reduced houmous and mushrooms - yum :) (and some full price wraps, because everyone seems to be eating them at the mo and we are getting through around 3 packs a week (as well as the bread and baguettes and rolls - they are bread fiends!))

Listed a few things on fb00k and flebay today (mix of for sale and giveaways). 1 has sold, another is hopefully being collected later - all things leaving one way or another :) Also sorted out some outgrown clothing from DS3's room for passing on :) - and some only fit for recycling!! :scream:

Washing is on the line outdoors - it keeps 'spitting' rain in the wind - but I think there's enough wind to outdo any wetness! :joy: Will go and iron the stuff which dried overnight now :)
