Calling - congratulations on 11 years of freedom!!Abundant - you don't get away that easily - you are signed up as July's cheerleader, with pompoms and lycra! Hope your time away is restful and not stressful.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

I love the little cat's romper suit CCL, never seen them before, so sweet
Great news on the holiday refund.
Not managed a NSD yet, I am embarrassed to say. Strange, as I had loads last month, but I guess there is lots of July left yet, and it is just the way things have fallen. Anyway, shopping delivery from Mr A expected later today, and it needed to be paid for. No other spends.Might have a search through the freezer with a view to doing some batch cooking. I cleaned the fridge this morning, and there are some veg that could do with using up.4 -
Love the little cat and the romper suit. I would love a cat but it's not really practical. We go away too often and I wouldn't like to put the wee soul into a cattery for weeks on end.
Sod's Law, isn't it? I've just started going out and today has been so wet that we couldn't. Oh well, definitely tomorrow no matter what. Going to the newly discovered butcher to get steak pie for Sunday dinner and some bits and bobs for the Boy.
Not a NSD as the Iceland order arrived. Fridge, freezers and cupboards are now full so no order next week and possibly not the week after either.
Glad you managed to get a refund on your holiday, CCL. Looks like ours can go ahead in October now and the cottage firm say if there are travel restrictions we can rebook without any penalties. That suits us fine as we go there a couple of times a year anyway.
My good habits? Well, I'm limiting myself to one cup of coffee in the morning as opposed to a pot full of very strong black and trying ever so hard to give up chocolate. That's a bit of a difficult one as I love chocolate.
Enjoy your holiday, Abundant.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Evening all, glad it's the end of the week, it's been a bit of an odd one at work with most people feeling a bit bleurgh. Have managed 2 NSD's, I bought a few bits online yesterday - supplements and a reusable face mask as feel guilty using the disposable ones. All purchases from the list so a good start.
Managed to get a few jobs done at home while working today, a few more bits and bobs to get on with tomorrow.
Rescheduled a holiday for August, will have to find a bit of spending money but most costs are included so won't need a lot. I also completely forgot my car insurance is due in September, I don't know how I've forgotten but need to rejig budgets to account for it and get saving!4 -
Right so grateful for having my bicycle back, took it into town this afternoon. Grateful for ds cooking, while I'm lounging on my bed, and for having a house that has several rooms so we can do very different things at the same time without being in your face about it. Other DS is doing weights again, I have told him off in a reflective way, as I think he needs to challenge his brain as well.
And grateful for 5 weeks of summer holiday as of today and while I will work, I can do so when ever I choose!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Today I am grateful for the neighbours who were getting rid of a bike that is just right for dd, for dd having a successful day writing and recording a speech about whether sports people should be allowed to express politics on the field or not, for dh helping out a friend and getting some social time in too, for cheering my neighbour up just by giving her a jar of curry sauce we can't use, for drying the washing outside, for starting to harvest our big fat blackcurrants. My 'introduce a new positive habit' for the month is to exercise every day. It's not really a brand new one, as I did it for most of June. But on the occasional days where I didn't do it, I was really out of sorts, so I want it to be consistent for July. Also, to keep drinking a lot of water.I'm hoping our library will open tomorrow...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Cooked chicken in black bean sauce (mum ate one, 3 portions labelled and frozen), chicken curry (one in the fridge for mum tomorrow, 3 labelled and frozen) plus rice added to each box, chilli for me (ate one, three frozen) and cooked tandoori lumps whilst watching tv. Did plan to do more but mum had put all the pans away and hadn't the energy to haul them out again.
Concentrating on my room today. Bagged stuff and moved it to under the window as I want to take absolutely everything off the bed and make it afresh. Swept and dusted one third of the front room (pulled the recliner out yesterday and cleared all the stuff from under and behind it and the little table and all the wires around the modem and the alarm thing that connects to the door and the alarm pendant mum is supposed to wear all the time). Happy to be making progress.
Today I am grateful for being contentedly domestic (finally got mum's 3.5 freezer drawers to the point where I can cook/ freeze and store rather than eating the same thing until it is all used up or working out what can be taken out to make room for something else), more bits used up (last 4 onions, half the leeks - two will go in the bacon soup tomorrow along with a chunk of savoy cabbage, the end of a head of celery, 3 slightly wrinkly peppers, an inch and a half of cucumber, a cut up tomato and the remainder of the sliced cabbage and red onion coleslaw mix). Grateful for feeling more in control of everything and bits looking tidier, weather that determined what I could and could not do (some planting to do but it would have been miserable struggling in the rain). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Well, well, well.It appears my kitten was just pretending to be a soft loving kitty in order to get the cone off. He’s not touched his incision at all so happy he’s not going to ruin that, but he has turned back into the psycho kitten again
going today to get him a cat tree for our bedroom so he can scratch there and not the bed, so won’t be a NSD.
Jackson Galaxy is my new favourite person with his TV show and it’s very interesting to watch, though I can practically hear OH rolling his eyes when I say we have to ignore things, even though as I say that he has stopped doing whatever it was
Going to bake some bread rolls today I think and make up some tomato based sauces to freeze and take out as needed. It’s OH’s first full day open at work today so plenty of time on my hands!4 -
If you buy some kitty-dope and scatter it on his post he might be happier to leave your bed alone. It is a habit thing, so stop it as soon as you can. If you have a roll of double sided sticky tape, put a few strips on the most favoured spot. There is nothing they like less than having their little kitty feet stuck to something. That and a few drops of lemon oil /orange oil might discourage the furry little darling. I bet that cone seriously hampered his ability to get into trouble.I am annoyed by the news this morning. It is sour grapes as we still can't go out. Can't drink in pubs, can't go to the hairdressers, not something I have really done in the last 5 years at all. But still, it seems to be a 3hr advert for publicans.I have already been used as a human measuring post. DS4 is 25 cm smaller than me, and so of course DS3 had to get measured too, and he is 14 cm smaller than me. Ha ha ha! flippin' hilarious. Then they give you the 'poor tiny stunted dwarf mama' look, I shall never feed them again. Rotters.Got a list written, will finish a book today (only 33 32 left in the pile) going to hoover and clean around a bit. Not spending any money until Monday, so I am going to claim 5 NSDs in a row. Menus planned and I have everything in I need for a fabulous feast of good food. First laundry load done, Measured my vital statistics and I am a human triangle. A wedge, not a pear. A pizza slice. I need to get my running shoes on - good job I have running shoes, so it will cost nothing except motivation.Onwards!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The taverns are full of gadabouts making merry this eve. And though I may press my face against the window like an urchin at a confectioner's, I am not tempted by the sweetmeats within. A dram in exchange for the pox is an ill bargain indeed.
