    Basics.
    What resolution is your TV?

What resolution is the laptop putting out to the TV?
Settings / Display says 1366x768 (Recommended)
It should be the same. 'Native resolution'. Maybe your TV is 1080p, so your laptop should be putting out 1920x1080 resolution.
If you're missing the edges of the picture, most obviously the taskbar at the bottom
If I don't set it to fullscreen for the game, I can see the time, windows button, red X etc
, you need to get rid of overscan - start with the aspect ratio button on your TV
    Que?.
That's the TV side, but is the picture good on the laptop itself?
In all honesty, i've never really studied it, just plugged it in and let it get on with it.
Do a speedtest.net test on it. 10mb+ will be fine.
Already done above, maybe you missed that?
Is it blurry on the laptop, and the TV, or just on the TV?
    See above
    Replying in bold above

Are you duplicating the screen or extending the desktop when connecting the TV? (I'd recommend extending, so you can set it to 1920 x 1080 resolution. Also in Windows adjust in Settings to not show the taskbar on all displays).

Aspect ratio = press the relevant button on your remote to cycle between Zoom, Full etc. Choose the option that gives the display at 1:1, so no zooming or any other manipulation of the image.

I just plug the HDMI in to the TV and set the TV input to HDMI2, so not sure as to the answer to your question 🤔
How to 'extend' - is this a laptop or TV setting?
Do you mean auto-hide the taskbar?
When I'm watching the game, it's in 'full screen' mode so I don't see the taskbar.

    Will investigate ...

On your laptop, after plugging in to the TV, right-click on your desktop and choose Display Settings. The window that appears will probably show 2 monitors merged together ... this is Duplicate mode.
Scroll down to the Multiple Displays section and in the droplist select Extend These Displays ... this should make the laptop and TV screens separate. Select the laptop screen and tick the Make this my main display box.
Drag the TV screen to position it wherever you want relative to the laptop screen (if you want to move it from where Windows initially places it - usually to the right of the laptop screen).
Select the TV screen, scroll down to the Scale and Layout section and set the Display Resolution to 1920 x 1080.

Where prompted for any of the above changes make sure to click the Apply/OK button. Whatever app you use for the streaming you would drag it to the TV and then make it full screen.

Whilst in Settings, search for taskbar ... select the Taskbar Notification Area option that appears. Scroll down to the Multiple Displays section and turn Off the Show taskbar on all displays option. The benefit of this is that the taskbar doesn't take up any space on your TV screen (2nd display), although this is moot when you make an app as full screen overlay.

I'd suggest doing the config updates beforehand so you're not panicking trying to get it ready before the match starts. ;) Once it is done then the next time you connect the laptop to the TV, Windows will remember the setup, so all you'd need to do is start the streaming app, drag it to the TV, make it full screen, grab a beer and enjoy (?) the match. :D

OP hasn't checked (see earlier in the thread) as they simply went straight to the TV, so the TV will have been running at the laptop's native resolution (1366 x 768 probably - we know the laptop does not have a 1920 x 1080 display).

A little confused now sorry - I watch it with G Chrome browser.
I don't have any 'apps' on my PC that I'm aware of .... 🤷‍♂️   🤔
  • Just as a matter of interest J_B, if you are using Google Chrome, have you tried the "casting" feature (quadrant shape on ribbon with wifi symbol on bottom left hand corner) to see if you get a better quality stream?
If you are familiar with that, I won't say any more, but if you aren't, it is another way of connecting your PC to the TV without the need for an HDMI cable connection.
As I say, I'm just mentioning this in deference to DoaM who is taking the lead in providing you with some sound support and advice.
