But good luck because it is just so frustrating when the blurry screen appears and you miss some of the action.
PS. I do use a TP link signal extender which has boosted or enhanced the connectivity with the home router which is in another room.
I haven't missed any of the 'action' (not that there was much! 😢) but it's not just as good quality as I would like.
No signal extenders and tried with cable which didn't help either.

Start with the source . Do other users find it poor .
Then try different media players and settings on laptop .
On our club's message board, many of the otherwise negative comments suggest that the quality was good.

Different media player? It's streamed via the club's website.
I've messed with the settings a little but any other suggestions gratefully received.

It looks like Stoke City have a YouTube channel and I have just had a quick gander at yesterday's game against Middlesbrough on my TV.
Quality ( of stream not football :) ) absolutely spot on.

I watched some of the reruns of premier league games on their youtube, through my laptop using Firefox and the quality was great too, but this seems to be baffling me.

Try a different browser to access if you can not use a video player .

via the official club app on mobile or tablet.

    Important information about your Stream
    Hi J_B
Thank you for choosing to stream the remaining Stoke City games.
Your personal stream code is xxxxxxxxx. Please be aware, this code will be registered to the first device it is used on and is none transferable.
Please note, Internet Explorer and Opera are not supported for live video so you must use another browser.

So, once I've set it up on the laptop, then it seems I'm stuck with it. I've never been able to log in with Firefox but will maybe try a little harder next time ...

Intel HD graphics should be fine for YouTube video streams. But if you really think the Nvidia graphics will help, click the Nvidia Settings icon in your system tray (or right-click on the desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel). Select Manage 3D settings, select the Program Settings tab, and then find (or add) the Chrome browser in/to the list and choose to use the Nvidia card. Click on Apply.

I think that's what I did at half time yesterday, but have just done it again! (there's no 'apply' button!)

Just watching BBC1 HD currently through the freeview aerial, Newcastle v ManC. I tried the 'red button' to see if I could get rid of Martin Keown, tried the 'no crowd noise' option and the picture quality was awful - would t'internet be affecting picture quality?

If there was no change in association then there wouldn't be an Apply button ... if there was a change then there should have been - at least there always has been for me.

    Basics.
    What resolution is your TV?
What resolution is the laptop putting out to the TV? It should be the same. 'Native resolution'. Maybe your TV is 1080p, so your laptop should be putting out 1920x1080 resolution. If you're missing the edges of the picture, most obviously the taskbar at the bottom, you need to get rid of overscan - start with the aspect ratio button on your TV.
That's the TV side, but is the picture good on the laptop itself? Do a speedtest.net test on it. 10mb+ will be fine. Is it blurry on the laptop, and the TV, or just on the TV?
