i’ve just checked my credit profile and KR had done a search on the 12th November (where I got mortgage in principal) and then another one on the 27th November (before they received our full application) is this normal?
Yes it's normal for them to do another check

@adzharr91 they do a soft check when you get your mortgage in principle and the second was a hard one on application for mortgage, that's why theres two.
  • fyi for anyone using any 'gifted' deposit, I'm about to complete and have just been hit with an extra £140 bill for gifted deposit/insolvency indemnity insurance from my solicitors
  •  @lejones91 - how on earth? do you have to have that insurance?

Why is that? Do you have the money in your bank already from your giftor?
  • Yes according to my solicitor its a requirement of the lender, even though my dad (giftor) has already signed to say he has no interest in the property or wants the money back. Probably best to check with your solicitor as having done some research I don't have much choice other than to pay it, especially as I am due to complete on Friday I'm not really in a position to start challenging and delaying things.
  • My deposit has already been transferred and received also so it doesn't make much sense at all
