£14.50 spent since my last attempt to update my signature - yes, I had scrolled down to "save", more than once, and it apparently had saved, until I next posted when it reverted to "June - plot lost!" again - at the baker's today. We had a wonderful weekend with DS1 & his partner, and they trotted back up to London laden down with home-grown veg, which made me smile - would he have eaten any of it when he lived here?! - and I'm counting the money spent on picnic food for a day at the coast as part of the "Entertainments" budget, which has hardly been touched for the last three months. The weekend included DD1's birthday, which would normally have involved a take-away, but the 3 girls cooked up a storm instead & we feasted like kings.
However, it was also DS3's birthday, them being twins, albeit born on either side of midnight. He wasn't able to come home last weekend - and it would have broken The Rules, as that would have been 3 households - so he's back this weekend instead. I'll be fetching him tomorrow, which will involved a trip to International Foods - our area not having many Oriental grocers - as well as my usual trip to the market, plus we will have a Thai take-away at some point, so this weekend will be the expensive one. But I'm hauling £££-worth of lovely fresh organic veg back from the allotment every other day, so I'm not panicking. Yet!
ETA: sorted the signature, apparently - the wink emoji is now not allowed - shame, it's been there since about 2008!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)8 -
Well done @try_harder that is an impressive saving. It is hard though. You have to focus on liking what you use your savings for (removing the stress of debt over here) more than the things you bought that you found you could live without, I think. Just a word of caution - it is habit formingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

£47.96 from an Asd@ delivery and £27 in Sainsb's just now on the things that the delivery didn't have. Sainsbo's is the closest and doesn't usually have a queue at this time of day. I tend not to buy too much if I can help it as I'm aware of some of the prices being higher so I probably spend less than if I went anywhere else. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it......6

A bit late to the party, sorry. Could I be added to the list please?Started with £94.45 which is my survey money from June.
Spent so far £57.59 , leaving £36.86 for the next three weeks. Eeeek.
However, some of that £57.59 has been spent on 15 chicken breasts which were on offer.
I've also been through the freezer and I've got 12 cooked dinners ready to use, bagged. and another 6 "raw" meals. And plenty of veg to make soups and pies to stretch the meat. So I think I might be ok.This is just the food budget. Cleaning/loo roll/toiletries comes from a separate pot because I bulk buy that. And wine comes from another pot because it's a treat and non-essential.2023 Fashion on the Ration

Also, had to get the car MOT'd and was astonished to find it didn't need ANYTHING at all done! So the money I had put aside for that is now in my Rainy Day fund.

I am writing with regards to my case . I am not entirely sure to how to pursue or how to go about thats why i am asking it here.I have got a payment holiday in place but the credit card firm went on to take the payment from my account. As i have not made any funds available in my account for them to take out but they did it and took it from over draft which charges me as well.I have pointed them about there mistake myself upon checking my bank account. They did not refund it straight away and got me to raise the indemnity for the transactions. This has cause me a considerable distress and in convenience.I just want to ask do i have a reason for claim for compensation or not2
