I folks, caught up on the updates to the thread. For my final week of July I have £23.30 left to spend out of the £50 I had left last week to use. This should be doable if we are careful. This weeks meal plan is HM quiche with salad Monday and Tuesday and Meatloaf with veg and roast/mashed potatoes for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be something from the freezer.

Elsiepac please add me for €300 for July
€65 spent (rounded up for ease)
spent in Aldi and Lidl today and 1st July. New offers started so took advantage plus as it is very hot here we are eating more salad so I top that up more often. I’m trying different fruit with my girl too but so far no success on anything. She used to love it all now it’s pears only but I keep trying
€235 remaining
this is over the last week in Aldi, Lidl on fruit, veg, salad, meat etc and lentils on offer.
€163 remaining
due to the new rulings in place from today on the use of face masks I’ve got to try to only go shopping once a week. But let’s not go into that.
We stocked up on fruit, veg, salad. Plus meat, fish on offer, frozen stuff on offer, cheese, yogurts, bread, milk and a few cupboard items. We also need to get water which is €2 and already included above. We will go and get that later. Lidl is cheaper overall but Aldi do the water that my girl can drink.
€113 remaining:money::rotfl::T7 -
I misread the line on YNAB when I posted this morning and I'm actually nearly £5 better off!
£178/£250 left for rest of the month
Need to do a reasonable size shop tomorrow. Will need to get UHT milk, bread, fruit and various other bits and pieces but no meat or fish needed I don't think but need to check freezer to make sure I've got everything I need for this week's menu plan.

£306.30/£800 spent
Happy with that as just under halfway through the month for me.
OH and step kids were away at the weekend so just me and the baby.
Wehad leftovers for the whole weekend, so managed to skip the big shop. Hoping I can get a few essentials tomorrow and that be it for the week.
Trip was unexpected so some of this months meal plan will fall into next, which is great as all the meat\fish already bought.
Veg box day also moving from Mon - Wed which means next week will have another little stretch.
It all helps 😀August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.007 -

£84.68/£100 after today's shop. I have no idea if I'll be okay for the rest of the month. I feel like I'm saying that every month at the minute, but I didn't realise how much of my budget relied on the SM's having offers!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Been shopping this morning. Bit of a stock up as just back from holiday. Have spent £45.75 between The Food Warehouse, Lidl and Morries.
£122.85/£250 left for the rest of the month so should be quite doable.

So far this month is £249, 96.. Hubby saying he wants meringue for his birthday Thursday. Not cake. Both no good for me but thats OK. He wants Domino Pizza over the weekend, thats his birthday treat. I gave us extra this month because of his birthday.
So we've still got £200 for food this month. £150 extra for birthday weekend

Hello all. Went to Morrison's on Friday, but then away at the weekend so didn't update. Spent again at a market on Sunday. (Also sandwiches for the journey and chip shop Saturday night, but entertainment not food budget) Good weekend, stayed in deceased relatives house, much social distancing with extended family, not seen since last year. Total spends so far for July £116.26/£200. Doing ok so far!Frugal Living Challenge 2025.6
