Today is the last day to file a defence too...Whaaaat? Have you received a County Court Claim form from the Northampton CCBC?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

On 17 June at 10:37PM I wrote...You still have over an hour, so I suppose it's not yet the 'last minute'.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 20th July 2020 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

I have missed the deadline now

If I were you I would now be slaving away to finalise your Defence at the very earliest opportunity - i.e. before 8am tomorrow morning.
You are now in a race.
If you file a Defence before the Claimant seeks a Default Judgment against you then you breath again and go through to the next round.
If however the Claimant applies for that Default Judgment first, then it's game over. You lose and will have to pay the full amount of their claim including the exaggerated add ons before it affects your ability to get credit for the next six years.1
