It's a difficult issue. There is a lack of moderation at weekends. Most of the admins work Monday to Friday so reporting posts at a weekend can result in a long delay before anything is done. Troll posts sometimes do need removing sometimes and when there isn't anyone around to do it the spam button seems to be the only option.neilmcl said:I agree, the abuse of the Spam reporting is getting out of hand, I've even seen posters encouraging others to use the spam report to deliberately remove posts they simply don't agree with. There's a mildly irritating poster who seems to have reappeared because they dislike someone else, which I commented on. Their reply, which I really don't give a toss about, now has 4 spam reports -not from me, I hasten to add. It does seem to be other people using the spam button as a quicker way of addressing perceived issues, but not really the right way to be going about it.
More a hammer and nut in this scenario.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I've been a victim again ... I noticed a thread with no replies when I know I replied to it yesterday. I replied (again) then reported my own post - hopefully the forum team will oust the troublemaker(s).1
