I've got a spam report as well.

Doesn't really bother me either way.
It bothers me in as much as I hate to think that someone looks at my profile, sees the number of Spam reports then decides that I am a spammer and does not trust what I have posted.
It bothers me an awful lot. I have 13 spam reports.

I don't know whether this was targeted at me (and specific others) or whether the person concerned just went for very random reporting. Either way, it's upsetting. ☹️☹️☹️

And this from a demographic who likes to bandy around terms  like millennial and snowflake! 😂

    Who’s needing a safe space now? 😂

Seems to me that some people don't know what spam is, and make a report if they don't like what someone else says, rather than arguing their point.
Could be someone I don't agree with politically, or more likely I'd have thought one of the AEs and trolls who seem to be free to wander about and cause trouble.
Doesn't really bother me either way.
I checked my profile the other day and found I had several of these 'spam reports'.
I don't think it's that people don't know what spam is. It seems that this site, and especially DT, was infiltrated by individuals determined to cause trouble – judging from the quite innocent posts that were spammed on my account, which were essentially 'non-extreme left', it does seem like an attack from malicious momentum-type trolls, perhaps even paid ones. It's possible that, as has been suggested, just one or two people caused the problem.
What amazes me is that all this seemed to happen relatively suddenly – they seemed determined to cause maximum disruption, and to goad people. The atmosphere on the forum changed very quickly. I'm now increasingly reluctant to use it, which, I suppose, is what the trolls were aiming for. (I don't like social media in general for similar reasons, and won't use things like facebook or twitter.)

First off, I can see that people here who aren't spammers have been labelled as such.
    Almost certainly maliciously.
As Sapphire says, I can guess at the type of poster it is, from the post of mine that was labelled as spam.
Fair enough they don't agree with me, I don't agree with people on here all the time, but we still manage to have a mostly sensible discussion.
But then it's easier for some to label posts as "spam" and try to get them deleted?
These people who don't want reasoned argument got a good friend of mine banned from this site a while back. He'd made some very mild comment and got a ban. They didn't like his very good, and reasoned argument though!
It seems that some people are free to do and say pretty well what they like, and then "respawn" while others get a ban for virtually nothing.
Those of you who know me will realise that I'd already largely stopped posting on DT, because of the way it had gone.
Perhaps closing it for a while was the best thing.

Yes but it's a bit difficult to ignore them when, as I suspect, some of them are answering themselves!

I've got 5 spam reports.......and one is a picture of my cat :joy: It's just an idiot (or idiots) who is bored and wants to cause trouble. The problem is that thread like this gives them the oxygen to carry on. Best thing to do with trolls is to totally ignore them, hard as that may be. They'll soon get fed up when no one rises to the bait.
Ignoring them does not bring it to the attention of the Forum Team though.
