Another one here enjoying Coronahols, although I don't actually mind people. I just like not having many things which have to be done at a certain time so I can drift and sloth at my own speed.
Went for a run am.
Helped clear a friend's kitchen out.
Did greenhouse duties.
Met my brother for our car park C0st& which was great seeing him after so long (he's a person.......). Car park was by the monster Mr T near uni so I braved it to get more eggs (used up tons in last night's souffle and 2 more for post-run breakfast) and a couple of other bits, all fairly civilised.
Gave my mum a Zoom lesson on how to use FB........which she needs for Messenger. Seems my sis in Canada used to Skype and now does Messenger but not Zoom. Bit peeved as it was a fairly big step for mum at 88 to learn Zoom. Anyway it went quite well so I'm going to give her a recap and rehearsal on Monday then let her loose on Canada.
Rang another SIL for a chat.
Bedroom decorating is making progress; tried a bit of the new paint on the walls and it looks ok albeit a bit paler than we anticipated. However it will need at least 2 coats as the current colours are quite .......vivid.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12 -
oh... *insert alphabet of cuss words*
Valli just reminded me I stripped the bed at 11am.. while doing 900 other things.. and I have just sat down 12.5 hours later and I haven't remade the blinking thing!!
So today the whole of the hall/stairs/landing has been painted
The wood bit got glossed.
I BINNED... FLUNG.. OTHERWISE DISPOSED OF..
a FULL wheelie bin of rubbish
1 carrier of stuff for DD1 and another for her ex-bil
3 boxes for charity shop
half a wheelie bin of recycling
I contacted A PERSON!!! on FB about clearing some of the garden swag.. so..
1 range cooker, 2 fireplaces, 1 radiator, a bucket of bits, 3 fire grates, 2 planters and the head of a mallet.
I stripped my bed
2 loads of washing done
I have 3 boxes of clothes to sort through and 2 boxes to ebeast.. My life is crazy...
So.. the 4 chests of drawers (80x40cm tops .. x4..) which were piled to the ceiling with boxes ... only 1/3rd remains!!!!
I am a hoarder.. and a pig... I do NOT need a house this full of gubbins...
While we have been improving the hallway and landing everyone else has trashed the whole rest of the house!!!

Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
Corona holidays is pretty much how my life normally runs with the exception of a weekly get together with friends and the odd council meeting. However I now have to join zoom meetings at the paid stuff which means wearing make up and concentrating. Before they'd just give me an update after their face to face meetings.
Busy paid stuff week so not a lot of flying by me but DH has been busy. Today we're having a socially distanced get together with family for Father's Day except it is currently pouring with rain, so we may have to resort to plan b which is them sitting in their cars, us passing food to them and then chatting on FaceTime.Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all,
We had a brilliant day yesterday, lots of laughter and playing out for the kids. The joys of family. It's raining today but that's fine, I have a big Sunday roast planned and little else! Re. Corona holidays, I loved it at first and now hate it - I miss my small group of friends, my work colleagues and my students. I want to dance with people again and have FUN!Right the dog wants a walk so it's off we go, have lovely days all xx9 -
Ahhh - you all make me feel so much better about myself. Thank you
I've loved being in lockdown - lucky that I could continue to work so left the house regularly and didn't have to worry about money - and my inner hermit is all snuggled in and thinking ' oh yes!!!' I would usually have seen people spaced out through the past few months .....and they've all popped up and said 'we must get together as soon as we're able'. at the same time. Panic! Why must we?
I went to see Dad. I won't bore you with the details - DS gave me a hug when I came home. I needed one - nuf said.
I did manage to WUDUPA a bowl of pots yesterday, and put out some of the mountain of recycling that accumulated this week.
Oh, and I got 'peopled' in the C00p: minding my own business at the till, loading my shopping, and the total stranger standing 2m behind me said: ' I'm fed up - are you fed up?'. I nodded (just a little bit so as not to appear rude) - well I was fed up, just not for the same reasons that she was. She took that as a sign to continue...'I think everyone is fed up...... I should have been on a Greek island right now'. I said 'then you have every right to be fed up' - but I don't think that was what I was supposed to say as she turned to talk to the bloke stood 2m behind her - don't think that he knew her either. Maybe I was supposed to say 'ohhh. Poor you. What island was that then?' I dunno - I've never found the rule book for peopling! I remember, even as a child, thinking that there was some hidden rule book. I strongly suspect I am well up on the autistic spectrum - it would explain a lot!
Anyway I'd better write myself a list and do something:
Round 1 =
breakfast
get washed and dressed
feed the birds
put out the rest of the recycling
sort washing in to loads
set first load swishing
WUDUPA a bowl of pots
My bed is made - it's a start.
Have a good day
Rxx

Was blue sky and I pegged out some more washing, grey now so I need to keep an eye on it. Need to pop over to the aged P's at some point.
Going to iron now though, before this lot dries. And I must have another go at that sodding collar I have to knit...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

2 hours of attacking it with a fork and a rake, and I am now the proud owner of the back of an allotment which had not been unearthed for probably 6 years or more. Gardening clothes are now in the wm with DD’s running gear. Another load is already in the line. Although it is grey, it hasn’t actually rained yet.
I’m sneaking in a quick coffee, then I have to (in no particular order) update the Mr M order for tomorrow, decide what to do with the chicken bits that I have defrosted for dinner, sort out a birthday present for next weekend because DH hasn’t, maybe do a bit of tidying in the back garden, or (more likely) have another go at getting on with the partly done dress that I am supposed to be making.8 -
I’ve enjoyed lockdown. I’m retired so no work to consider. I usually babysit weekdays and often at weekends too. I’ve enjoyed discovering retirement and finding the time to do things I used to do such as wine making. Don’t get me wrong I love the grandchildren I babysit but I’ve kept in touch on Messenger. I wake up and my day is my own.
I had a lovely chat with a young woman on the other side of the petrol pump last week. The conversation went something like: I said ‘I’ve almost forgotten how to do this. It’s over 2 months since I filled up’. She said ‘Me too, it’s well over 2 months’. We were both laughing. I said ‘I can’t even remember how much it was .... 100.7 I think is quite cheap’. She said ‘I can’t remember either....I think it’s cheap’. I said ‘see you in 2 months then.................hopefully’.
