Private Parking Code of Practice - Public Consultation
Comments

Disparaging remarks about various Ministers and the Government should be reserved for politics discussion forums.
Posting such childish remarks on a thread about the Public Consultation for the Code of Practice will be seen by the BPA, IPC and PPCs, and as such any responses to the consultation by MSE forumites are likely to be dismissed as the imbecilic rantings of swivel-eyed loonies.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.3 -

Which is why we need to first know when the consultation is going to take place and how we and as many sensible and knowledgeable people as possible can make a sensible and structured input.BrownTrout said:

We need to pick a small number of points each, and put forwards our own views in our own words. None of this can happen though until "someone" tells us when and how.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

The children living in the this long drawn out saga are the BPA / IPC and PPC's
Are we really interested in the dinosaurs being the BPA/IPC and PPC's . This is a government consultation, are you saying that there will be interference from 3rd parties ???

He's saying that childish insults do us no favours and potentially demean any points we try to make. Whether such points (as made individually) can be directly attributed to MSE forum members is a separate matter, but his general point is sound.beamerguy said:

The British Standards Institute have been tasked with drawing up the first draft of the Code of Practice. They have formed a Steering Group of 'stakeholders' to write the first draft, before it goes out to consultation.beamerguy said:Are we really interested in the dinosaurs being the BPA/IPC and PPC's . Now, who do imagine some of those stakeholders are? Mary Poppins, Mother Theresa of Calcutta, and Sister Wendy?
You and some of the other rabid posters on here are the ones not living in the real world.

We have to up the game here right now to ensure any input from the forum is on as high a professional and considered basis as possible. The moral high ground is a 'sine qua non' (to quote a stalwart!). Silly, infantile metaphors do nothing to promote the cause. In fact they do irreparable harm. And no, I don't work for any freakin' PPC!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

We know all this David, but you see, when I see things like "Mary Poppins, Mother Theresa of Calcutta, and Sister Wendy? .... I really do cringe .... maybe because I am older than you ?bargepole said:

But to say other posters are "rabid" it's a kettle thing0 -
If I get the chance to have my two pennyworth as an individual I will be using my own experience and the impact on others both social and economic.
The Government want to kick start the economy including the housing market. If just a small percentage of the total amount of PNC's given out result in CCJ's that will have a direct impact on the housing market. Some people may not even be able to rent.
