@carrielovesfanta i hope everything is okay and the test comes back negative
Thank u for thinking of me everyone. Took at step back for a couple of days and havent done alot. The urgent project that needed doing for work was completed in time plus i was doing extra stuff so i just said i needed to just have a breather. There were problems after Mondays procedure but everything good. GP has changed my treatment plan but is very nervous. Whatever GP does is not a win win situation so we've gone for the option i wanted to try and the specialist had the bigger plan for. Then yesterday i had a letter for a telephone appointment with specialist which will have everyone back on the same page i hope.
The highlight of the last couple of days is which Zoflora scent to try
Ive pottered about doing bits of housework in the house and tidying up. DD has been packing up her student flat, arrived back yesterday and now there is stuff everywhere.
Going to continue to dodge the stuff and continue to take it easy.
Todays plans
-finish cleaning bathroom
-still need to update spends book
-do a little bit of sports homework for a get together tomorrow. Its more recreational than work and good fun. Even got 2nd place when we last had a quiz on topics completely random!
-plenty of food in. DD rang me to see what i had space for and brought a few meals worth back. Fridge currently reminds me of Christmas!
Have a good day everyone
Stay safe x

Morning allThe camper van's MOT is due on the 25th and is still showing as due on that date. I don't want to leave it till a couple of days before as I might not be able to get a slot in time if they decide to change the rules back now things are opening up (may be different in Wales?), as it is parked on the road and there is a particular nosy neighbour across the road at the back whose hobby seems to be checking up and reporting untaxed / MOT'd vehicles to DVLA and getting them clamped. Not sure when the cut off date for the extensions is, can't find it anywhere. Anyway, as it is ancient I would rather get it done sooner than later. I suspect there will be a huge backlog of vehicles to get done in autumn and it will be tricky to get appointments. Our car, which is newer and garaged, has a new date and is waiting for that.Usual early dog walk this morning, and got out in the garden afterwards as rain is forecast later:OH dug some potatoes, and I harvested garlic, not great this year, but perfectly useable,Summer pruned the quince tree - my trees are all on dwarfing stocks and need summer haircuts rather than drastic winter pruning. Lots of quinces this year
They are funny little fuzzy things at the moment but will turn into big 'golden apples' as my small GD calls them by October
Picked mangetout peas, a little bit of spinach, a few strawberries and loganberries.Picked some lettuce - I can heartily recommend the variety Lollo Rosso, which have survived in troughs in full sun back when it was hot, when the oak leaf lettuce growing with them was burned off, and under the straggly potato foliage in my unruly veg patch. They are pretty too, with red tinged curly leavesWatered the seedlings in the greenhouseGot more spinach out of the freezer to go what I picked. Will make a pie laterWashed out a couple of decent freezer bags and pegged them on the line to reuseShopping delivery arrived, so must sort that and put it away. Won't take long as it wasn't a big shop. About half is tins and packets for my 'armageddon cupboard' which unsurprisingly has been depleted recently. I will check the dates and make sure only long dated items go in there. My armageddon cupboard has been very useful on a number of occasions over the years, in times of illness, bad weather, needing to help someone out, and in the past, simply having no money to go shopping. I would recommend everyone has an armageddon cupboard, box or shelf, if they possibly can. My Mum did, and her Mum before her. Mine is just a wooden cupboard on the landing, with 2 shelves. I keep an eye on the dates and rotate the contents into the larder when necessary, and replace. We simply don't know what is going to happen, and you can build it up slowly and quietly without panic buying or spending loads, a couple of Lidl tins, or a packet of teabags or whatever you normally use, or is on offer, a week. That way, when items are hard to come by, it snows or you feel ill with a bug or whatever, there is no need to go out. I must confess I never considered a pandemic, lockdown and shielding though!4 -
@DawnW we have a doomsday box!! DD bought it back from uni on her last visit and it tucks into a slot nicely in the kitchen. We've kept DD spare dry food bits in it and have added a couple of things. It was DDs doomsday box at uni in case she was struggling for food anytime.
Actually said to DD last night, if we were back in full lockdown over Christmas and couldnt get shopping between the box and freezer we would be able to rustle up something good for a Christmas dinner!! Really worth havingDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi all, I have been AWOL this week and money saving has not been going brilliantly... BUT still nothing on credit card, debt still reducing as monthly standing orders go out, annual-expenses savings pots still being added to (even if I rob them at the end of most months!) and still meal planning.
Today:- -pick up small treat for self from our local crystal shop - a pretty clear quartz pendant. Wanted one on a chain not just a leather thong.
- -will grab a loyalty coffee from the drive thru when I go - I found cards for 2 free coffees in the car!
- -meals from stores. Though lately I have been able to tap up my OH for chippy /curry tea ;-)
- -garden getting plenty of free water right now
- -will start the book I already bought and resist the urge to buy the next one in the other series I'm working through
Happy Friday all.

We also have armageddon stores, built up over many years, ours also includes toiletries and cleaning materials. Over the last few days, I have been thinking about where we could relocate them to as I don't like where we currently keep them.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Evening all,
We are still very much in lockdown here in Wales, our restrictions have barely been lifted so I was happy that the cars mot extended. At whatever point our lockdown eases somewhat I will get them done as a matter of urgency as we're likely to be getting rid of both cars sooner rather then later if current thinking pans out.
We didn't have an armageddon stores but have built one up since lockdown started, just adding a couple of extra bits to each shop. I will never let my food stores run so low again. I used to have massive stores (I think many of you will remember the 32 bags of dried dates!) I will keep it at a better level now. When lockdown hit we were already in isolation as dh had symptoms and it was several weeks before we were able to get shopping again properly.
In the way of small things
all meals from stores, cheese and onion toasties for lunch and I made a chili for dinner
moved some furniture around to make space for the new desks that are coming on Monday (the boys early birthday gifts)
shopped around for a new office desk chair, got one coming tonight from argos
had a long chat with my parents, part on facetime showing off our garden as they're in a flat and really miss a garden! and the other part on the phone whilst I walked and talked to get my steps up!
updated freezer list and reorganised to make it easier to find things
Thats about it , take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
