well done on not stopping for coffee, that is willpower I don't seem to have at the moment
I am terrible for energy drinks aswell, so I think avoiding the shops completely will have to be the way forward  :D

Store bought coffee is/was my downfall too. Every morning on my commute.  Amazing how these things become a habit so quickly!

Had any luck with Prolific today? I've done a couple of 2-3 minute ones but they are for pennies.

  • @Naomim It just tastes so much better doesn't it! Our boss bought a fancy fresh bean machine (Over £600) at work which doesn't get used and is in my office at work so I am thinking about googling some instructions and giving it a go to save some money.

I have indeed! 6 so far, none of much value so £3.05 pending, one for 80p which was rejected but I have messaged as it wasn't my fault (not holding my breath)

At work we had a bean to cup thing but you just pushed a button for your choice and it did it. At home I have a tassimo which suits me. I don't have posh coffee tastes! But I like having a coffee (and cake)  when I'm out 😂

    Keep going with prolific 👍

  • I had a DolceGusto which I loved, however OH took the plug off and it ended up in the bin!!  Oh yes, the cake does help :) I have just finished arranging a meeting for this friday and next week both with homemade brownies, cakes or cheesecake....So I am hoping I can show some restraint and just go for those  :D Just got 2 x Juicy prolifics (£3.80 in total) they must be listening and a few small ones today so over £7 now pending, Just goes to show how it can add up @Naomim

  • I have had a lot of online training and teams meetings with no participation really today so have managed loads!! @Naomim

I have also re-jigged the budget, OH gets paid on 15th (no-idea why I thought that was today) so PD tomorrow, he doesn't get payslip until the day which is very frustrating.  Don't they know I have S/S to tinker with....

Anyway, I have under-estimated his pay for this month (anything extra can go on the C/C) and we have £229 a week leftover until 14th November.

Theoretically this sounds brill, but OH has a night out and we have a £50 deposit for DS1 school trip to pay in the first 2 weeks,  after fuel £20 food £75 etc we have around £40.00 a week left over.  I am planning on trying to stick with this, If we are careful we can shave some off the food/fuel budget I think and the last 2 weeks we have little on, so anything extra can go towards Christmas.  I am planning on picking at least 2 shifts up at the pub so we will see how I get on.

For today, £20 left until tomorrows budget starts.I need to get some washing powder and some chicken for tea, but other than that we should be fine so the spare can go in my savings pot until the EOM where I will split/cash in etc.

Sorry I have been waffling on for today lol!!

Better to under estimate than over 😁  I used to get paid on the 15th too.  It was two weeks in advance and two weeks in arrears. Was a !!!!!! and probably the reason my DD's now come out all over the month. I should call and get them moved really.

It "should" work well for us, as I get paid on 25th so majority of the DD go out on the end/1st.  OH pays things like holiday club, sports clubs for the boys and the car etc..with us only really having to wait 2 weeks until payday again.

  • Hi all,
I'm home early today and watching some Marie kondo/home edit to inspire me  :D think I am going to have a good declutter this weekend.

I called at the co op and spent £18.70 on the way home, this includes washing machine liquid..current load now on, some chicken breast, pop and naan breads for the curry I'm making for tea.  I also bought 2 x big bars of Tony Chocoloney which were on sale that I am pitting away for xmas hamper fillers.

OH is out tonight, me and the boys are having curry for tea then I'm going to declutter the kitchen drawers....rock and roll I know!! After that it's an early night as the new season of YOU is on Netflix and I can not wait.
