Hope DS feels better soon. I'm glad it's not raining as I'm standing in a park waiting for 11yo football to kick off.
I have suggested witth SIL that we reduce the kiddy Xmas spends this year but that’s still to be agreed on yet xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.221 -
So did the budget today but have to revisit tomorrow as today I went into town and picked up some necessary items as they were in the sale.
We have a christening in November which we don’t need anything for the boys to wear as I picked up two lovely tops in the next sale last month. I budgeted £10 for the gift which I felt really tight about, however went into Clinton’s and they had a beautiful frame which was £10 and they had 20% off in store. I managed to get the gift , card and wrapping paper for £10.09 so was really pleased.
It’s SD birthday in Dec I had already ordered her a bracelet and some charms in the 3 for 2 however they didn’t send individual boxes so it looked a little underwhelming, I popped into pand today with my invoice and they have given me all the boxes so will look more impressive. Her fave perfume was on sale for £26 today so I picked that up in town. She is pretty much finished now so I’m going to get it all wrapped tomorrow and that’s one job done.
im at the pub for 7.30 today for at least 3 hours so about £25ish at least to add to the money Tin xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.221 -

I did also get three small bags of Halloween treats and a bucket for £3.50 within the spends….going to tot up tomorrow but think I have about 10 left for the week and our guosto comes on Tuesday. Chicken enchiladas tomorrow 😍
I have just over £35 from the pub as did a shift again today I’ve popped that in my tub. Four of my items sold on eBay ! Hooray that two of them have actually paid straight away so I’ll get them packed and shipped tomorrow on my lunch break. Goodnight all x

Lookafterthepennies2020 said:Thank you @WinterWarrior we used to pay all shared together and what I owed I did and what I earned I did etc ..however we are now trying to clear the debt and focus on the deposit before my bonus and apparently both had the same idea with the budget.
I earn more than OH so the idea to lump it all together and live off a weekly figure as a couple doesn’t massively benefit me more than him so thought it was an easy sell. However I won’t be clubbing everything together and be the only one sticking to it…anyway tomorrow is another day and I’m tackling the budget then when I have had a night to think about how will be best moving forward.
I know this might sound awful but I don’t think there should be one of us paying the debt down and saving for a house where both going to own whilst the other doesn’t play ball.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thankyou for sharing @enthusiasticsaver I think we are going to try a variation, do what you have suggested but the money will be allocated on the 25th and the 15th to coincide with our paydays.
I do think that I will feel a bit annoyed if every month I save and he splurges but I am sure I will have to get used to itTo be honest he isn't that bad on the day to day, its the big stuff. We are doing it weekly at the moment and this week has said he doesn't need his weekly amount as doesn't have anything coming up, has a canteen account at work so as long as he has enough for a hair cut at the end of the week and fuel he is happy! x

Hi All,
Time has flown over the last few weeks, overall I have been very good I have a few more Xmas Presents ticked off of the list that are within budget and had a christening at the weekend that we were very MSE at! I then did a shift at the pub afterwards so £25 in the pot!
Not much planned for this week, but the weekend is hectic...I have also absolutely piled the lb's on so joined SW at the weekend, I think knocking the junk on the head should help the pennies also as I am terrible for popping into the shops and I am the heaviest I have ever been. I have approx. £30 in my acc to last until payday (OH's) which is the 15th but £30 in my pot, we have a birthday party at the weekend for twins so will need to buy some presents for that but I am not planning on spending a fortune and I am supposed to be going to a bongo bingo type thing on the evening, to be completely honest I am not really in the mood for going but I have already paid. I won't be drinking much (if at all) so not expecting to be too spendy & the tickets etc are all included. We are getting a mini bus there and back so I will need to chip in to that however.
GFoodbox being delivered today for 4 nights tea and both cars re-fueled so hoping nothing else will crop up between now and the weekend,I may need to put a small shop on the CC before payday which we can then clear.
x
