Waters & Gate Threatening Debt Collection - Province of Pisa Italy

I don't know if anyone else has been contacted by Waters & Gate but I received  a final demand from them this morning for a driving offence in Pisa, 2016. I spoke to them last year after speaking to Citizens Advice who doubted it's validity. Asked W&G to provide photographic evidence....heard nothing for 18 months until this morning.....be interested to know if anyone else has been contacted?

Debt collectors - ignore them, they can't collect on this.

As Umkomaas says above.   Difficult to understand what they think they can achieve.

Anyway, their failure to collect does not cost their client anything as W&G offer a "no win no fee service"
If W&G want to waste their money so be it, not your problem

If you want to get rid of them a simple put up or shut up and delete data should be the way to go

Hi there 

I will recount my experience with Water & Gate and a Pisa Parking ticket(s)

firstly I would like to stress that I am (& always) have been willing to pay what is due - I am not about trying to get out of a legitimate parking ticket 

and both parking tickets issued by Pisa were legitimate 

the confusion came, and why Waters & Gate got involved was two fold - the tickets were caused by my FIL who was driving  & he got two within 30 mins!!!!!

so when I got the tickets sent to me 6 months after the event i failed to realise they were in respect to two separate offences not a single offence 

I paid vii the Pisa payment portal what I thought was the only offence - about 130 euros

roll on a year later - and I get a letter from Waters & Gate demanding £900.00 - with very little info other than they were representing the Pisa authorities 

my first mistake was not asking W&G to provide the reference numbers 

anyway to cut a long story short i realised after a dialogue with Waters & Gate & and a review of my paperwork, that i had luckily kept that they were chasing the ticket that I had not paid !!!!

!!!!!! a legitimate mistake, but Waters & Gate would not budge 

anyway whilst on a run I had a brain wave - I went back to my paper work and dug out the fine letter for the offence I had not paid - logged on to the Pisa portal and found I could still pay the fine - albeit at a slightly higher rate so I paid it (and made sure I got the payment receipt)

so the next time Water & gate contacted me i just replied I did not owe any money (they did ask for evidence but I ignored them )

8 months later not heard a thing

so the takeaway is get Waters & Gate to confirm the offence, & if possible see if you can pay it directly to the Pisa authorities 

I was lucky in that the the car was registered to me so I got the fine paperwork, not the case with hire cars

Hi  I have a similar case .  2 fines issued by the Firenze Poliza Municipale .. 07/2019  now waters and gate are trying to get me to pay £750 .   They keep phoning and threatening to take legal action .  Its extortion.   I tried to pay the original fine to the Polizia in Florence but they emailed me saying they could not take the money as it was now in the hands of Waters and Gate .   What shall I do ? I'm feeling sick with the worry of this now .  Anyone else had this experience??

Ignore them. They are debt collectors who are not party to anything between you and the Italian police. Debt collectors have no power to do anything. Have you searched the internet for W&G to see how impotent they are against those not intimidated by their empty threats?

They keep phoning and threatening to take legal action .

Block their phone number then!

if you want to get rid of it give them an ultimatum, either commence action in court within 5 working days, or remove your details from their systems as per GDPR

Ignore it.  COMPLETELY. Tis a scam.
