LHH Scotland cottage booking refund

Hi Tedber. Thankyou for your support. This morning I wrote to Trustpilot suggesting there was a fair bit of doctoring going on and asked who was responsible. I still await their response. I note every negative review has been deleted this morning. I can only speak for ourselves re refunds from LHH ............ we still await our refund of £1710 for our holiday of 6-20 June. I hope CMA are onto them sooner rather than later. I guess we all need to continue to write reviews even although they are being deleted by Trustpilot via LHH??????1

Hi Julba, we too are having the same problems - still £1710 out of pocket. We all need to persevere and write reviews wherever we can. A totally immoral company who have behaved shockingly. We reported them to CMA over a month ago, to consumers advice (who weren't very helpful) and also have had our card company take it up, but still no news. That is very interesting what you say re their lawyer also being the secretary. I believe the very few positive reviews they have on Trustpilot are from former employees or folks who have an interest in LHH.0

Have just had a look at Trustpilot's reviews (11.30a.m.) re LHH Scotland. Every negative review has been deleted - only positive reviews remain. I have written to Trustpilot asking why this should be so. I await their response. As a company, LHH become more shocking by the day with their devious practises. I guess if anyone looks at Trustpilot's pages they will realise that all the true reviews have been deleted/doctored by LHHScotland. It's blatantly obvious. I guess the reports that are going around that certain companies part with money to Trustpilot comes into its own! LHH, please note none of the negative reviews breach Trustpilot's guidelines and are genuine reviews from many people airing their disgust as to how they have been treated by LHH as well as being badly out of pocket0

I cannot believe that the gushing 5-star reviews on Trustpilot are genuine. If they are genuine, these people have obviously not been treated appallingly and lost their money. I am pleased to note that people are now adding 1-star reviews to Google. I don’t believe that LHH can get those removed and of course if anyone Googles “LHH Scotland” it pops up with the search results.
We all need to keep up the momentum. The people on this thread must be the tip of the iceberg. Do the maths, 121 properties x closed for 15 weeks x (say) 60% occupancy = 1,089 impacted customers. Yes some will have got their bookings rescheduled and some will have been happy to go down the insurance route. But plenty will not have. I did try a FOI request to find out how many complaints had been made to the CMA but they declined to provide the information.

I agree with all you say. You are right I'm sure, this is only the tip of the iceberg. People are not being permitted to air their views. This surely is not right? Can LHH do this? Can Trustpilot go along with it? It is surely damaging to Trustpilot to allow the sort of practise? I still await a response from Trustpilot after enquiring as to why every negative review had been removed. It has been said that some of the glowing remaining reviews were from formal employees, a secretary and their solicitor! I read on Trustpilots website that LHH can flag any review they think is in breach of TPs guidlines. As far as I can make out, none of the reviews that were removed came under that category. We all need to complain to Trustpilot. Even when this post is deleted by LHH we will continue to have our say.0

I have complained to trustpilot by email this morning and also posted a query on their twitter page. The email address for trustpilot is: compliance@trustpilot.com
I'm absolutely baffled at how a company can be allowed to conduct itself in such an appalling way in 2020!1 -
I too complained to Trustpilot. They responded a short time ago saying "Weve received your request re LHHScotland. One of our support Agents will work towards resolving it as soon as they can". I don't know if that is good news or maybe news not to be believed. Will post any further comments from them. Meantime it would be good if other folks who feel the same contacted Trustpilot and complained that LHH have flagged their review despite not having breached TP's guidlines1

Totally agree with you on Trustpilot, apparently flagged reviews disappear for weeks, if they ever appear again, with Trustpilot saying they go through an ‘arbitration process’. But it’s really all down to companies paying to keep negative reviews off their page, whoever pays the piper and all that. Of course it doesn’t affect the overall rating, so anyone checking it out and with a modicum of intelligence would know there’s something dodgy going on. Really opened my eyes about review sites in general though, and how manipulated and untrustworthy they are!0

I have looked at this post over the weeks in dismay....(we had a cottage booked through another company - all sorted)
I have posted on Trustpilot...but this has just shown what a useless site it is...it's lost me and I hope many on MSE too.
Just wondered if the Scottish Tourist Board know of this companies actions. The woman should be named and shamed. I wish you all the best.1
