Cup of condensed milk, cup of double cream, cup of whiskey, tsp of instant coffee, tsp of vanilla extractI make a pretty simple recipe that goes down well. Mix a tin of condensed milk, a tin of evaporated milk, the condensed milk tin full of whisky, a teaspoon of instant coffee - blend. Keeps a few weeks if it lasts that long.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Try this ...
ISLE OF ISLAY CREAM
This recipe comes from the beautiful western Scottish island of Islay (pronounced “eye-luh”), where the peat in the soil and water gives the local Scotch whiskies an earthy taste like Irish whiskey. This was not to some locals liking, so they devised this way of enjoying it.
Makes approx. 1 litre
INGREDIENTS
400g tin of condensed milk
170g tin of evaporated milk
300ml carton of single cream
250ml of Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey
4 teaspoons of coffee essence
METHOD
Pour the milk and cream into a 1 litre jug or bowl.
Use the whisky to wash out the milk and cream containers, then add it to the bowl.
Add the coffee essence.
Stir together.
Pour into a clean 1 litre bottle.
ALTERNATIVES & ADDITIONS
Adjust the amount of coffee essence to taste.
The original recipe specified UHT long-life single cream, but this can now be difficult to find. Use normal single cream instead.
TIPS
Don’t use your best single malt for this. Any cheap supermarket own-brand blend will do.
Keep it in the fridge. However, I don't know how long it will keep for: it’s never stayed around long enough to go off!The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

You could use brandy too, for those that don't like whisky/whiskey (me!

There are bits and pieces all over the place on this but I have a 30th birthday bash in January for a really good friend and I have decided to do flavoured vodka. My last attempt didn't work out well and looking at what mine cost and what some of the prices being quoted on here are, I think I must have added too much vodka and not enough 'fillers'.
So does anyone have any recipes, fruits, sweets or otherwise with quantities, costing all that kind of thing. I am on a really tight budget and I would love to do as much as possible (and if anyone can make it happen it's this board!).
Thankyou in advance for hints, tip and any general advice :beer:Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

we made this spiced orange vodka for presents last year, and it really was lovely. I think we either bought the vodka from Lidl or Tesco (70cl value range vodka is £9), so it was pretty cheap !
(ETA: recipe says 1L vodka makes about 2.5L final product)"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -
That's my problem I think, I tried it before and expected the 1litre of vodka to turn into 1 litre of flavoured vodka which is why it went so gloopy and terrible. Now I see it make more (Duh! Stupid or what
) Looks like I won't have to splash out on as much vodka and stuff as I thought! Thanks

According to OH, the best have been skittles, sherbert lemons or werthers originals, added to bottle of vodka and put through the dishwasher.
Cola cubes weren't very successful, apparently!!0
