I've been busy today. 3 loads of washing dried on the line between the showers. Ive sorted through 5 of the huge boxes from our bedroom. 2 are now empty, 1 filled with any toys that came out before the children saw them and decided they had been looking for it for the last year. 1 is filled with things that'll need another sort through, picture frames, ornaments, a million different chargers... and the last is now half full from all the paper that has gone through the shredder, I've actually killed the shredder, its been on the go all day and now won't turn on.
The only things worth anything are 2 bike helmets, they were only worn a couple of times but they must be 10 years old at least so may just put them for free on the garden. And 2 pigeons! Made me jump when I opened the bag, they're foam/polystyrene from when DH went shooting,  still in the bag with the receipt as he stopped going.

Better try to sleep as DH is collecting the shopping in the morning and I said I'd get up to put it away.

Morning, its cold wet and miserable out there today. DH remembered the shopping and fridge/freezer stuff away. Just need to sort the rest.

Just checked the bank and £115 DD has gone out to the cards. I need to get back on top of tracking money, so much has gone out on food in little bits this month that I completely lost track.

I have my first formal meeting at work this afternoon. Absolutely dreading it, can already feel how tight my chest is. If im not too bad after I want to pick up all the pet foods/cleaning stuff to use the first 10% off voucher as i forgot to cancel the CCPlus. Ive not been shopping since I finished work in May so not looking forward to the experience.

Going to have another cup of tea and get a shower.

horrible few days. Meeting at work was awful,  I came out in tears. Got to car just as my sister rang and something that was said in the background made me pour out almost 40 years of anger.
I was left with the biggest headache ever and still keep bursting in to tears.

It does mean I haven't moved off the sofa or spent any money.

I've been on chat about the matress as still no refund and it said they were going to deliver today.  For the 3rd time in 2 weeks it still hasn't got to dispatch. They said it'll take 7 working days for refund which is tomorrow so I'll be back on chat on Thursday if its not in the bank as I now have £6 in that account but I don't think anything else is due out of that one.

Need to look at a new shredder, it definitely doesn't work. DH tried it earlier and it blew the whole house electrics (system is really sensitive anyway and a bulb going out can do it).

I didn't manage to post yesterday as we had a busy day. End of July totals are
    Lcard £8930.33
    Bcard £8113.98
    Mcard £2030
    Cfinance £803.79
    BNPL £1276
Storage Unit £1000 (in an envelope upstairs but hes still not sorted paying it and not taking it off untilits paid).
    Total debt 1/06/2020 £23415
    Total debt at 30/06/2020 £22636.84
    Total debt at 31/07/2020 £22154.10

Half the BNPL is due this month I think but I have it waiting but as I'll have to do some card shuffling the fees might not make it a big drop at the end of the month.

Need to have a big look at budget going forwards without my wages and DD1 board and weve been asked to go on a family holiday next year so need to see if we can budget it in.

Good afternoon. DH is sleeping so thought I'd work through the budget. We get paid everything every 4 weeks but all payments come out monthly so I tried to work everything out to weekly to balance things up. Theres some areas to look at too.
If we keep to budget it is doable.

    This months goals
    1) stick to budget
    2) finish the 2 rooms started last month to keep on track with 1 room a month.
    3) lose 5lb, its what I lost in July without too much trying.
    4) start my councilling
    5) try to get out with the children at least once a week (yesterday was the first time they had left the house since march)

I know they aren't really money related but if I can get my health back in the right direction I may be less inclined to spend on things we don't need and Takeaways as I'm too exhausted to cook.

  • Morning. Shopping has been delivered today instead of tomorrow as we were out of bread and milk and couldn't get a slot for tomorrow.
DH did spend £3.60 at work, think it was drinks and crisps. Hoping to stick to Sunday delivery ready for the children going back to school.
He filled up the car this morning too, its only been done 3 times during lockdown.
I've got 3 loads of washing on the line as looks like it might be a nice day again. Girls are watching a film and DS2 is on the trampoline so I'm enjoying a cup of Tea.

  • I've cancelled my YNAB today. I can't get the app to work and don't get on the laptop to update. I'm trying a free app but while uploading everything, realised a huge mistake on my budget. Ive put everything on monthly then converted it to weekly, except the food! Our biggest bill and ive only put the weekly amount in the monthly column.
Now I've got a bit of an emergency fund going (£900 in there) I don't know if I could cancel the fridge/dryer insurance.

  • Just working it out and I'm £19pw over budget (£16 if I cancel the insurance) instead of the £96pw under. I did wonder why we would have that left each week.
We should be OK this month as there's hardly any dance classes and I'd budgeted them all in ready for September and if im back at work then we will be OK as will be an extra £80pw.

  • 3 loads of washing dry on the line plus 3 white t-shirts with stains on that i was going to bin but washed them on a 60 with some vanish, nothing to lose if I ruin them and they've come out perfect. All folded ready for the children to put away tomorrow.

We had pork chops for dinner and as I went to put them in i realised I'd left 2 chicken fillets in there from yesterday. I was supposed to cut them up for my salad after we had eaten dinner. Felt so bad throwing them away.

Done the budget app as much as I can and its good to see that if I paid all savings 'pots' on to the CC's now we would be down to 14k debt.

Going to go tell some girls that they should be sleeping and start reading my book (i was already in bed with a hot chocolate but I'm sure theyre bouncing off the bunks.
