  • So tired today, think it must be the change in weather.
Ive done absolutely nothing today. I did order sugar soap and sponges yesterday so the boys room will be started tomorrow (i was hoping today but its not being delivered till later). Also ordered pe trainers and shorts for the girls ready for school and a pair of pyjamas each as they seem to be running very low.

Yesterday I got my esa letter and could now put my resignation in. I have been worrying so much about my next formal interview  tomorrow and now I know i have another option I'm a bit scared of what to do. I could stay off and face the formal and possibly dismissal route or just hand my notice in and take some time to try to get better without all the stress.

I so want a day at the seaside. Nothing like fresh sea air.

  • Was supposed to have my formal meeting today, i couldn't do it, I cried, I couldn't breath, I was shaking,  my head hurts so much.
I have now written my resignation, never had to write one before.
So big changes going forward and lots of money saving needs to be looked at.

DH did some shopping on his way home this morning, not sure what he spent. Not much else to update. Just waiting for the last few debt payments to come out so I can update totals. And ive still not started the boys bedroom as my head just wasn't with it.

  • Hi  :)
Just popped by your diary. Firstly you are the queen of washing lol. Well done on the house clearing it sounds like you have done amazingly so far.  o:)
I am so rubbish at tracking my spends so keep going with it .
As with the resignation don't be too hard on yourself about it and take each day as it comes.
You are doing so well just wanted to let you know that!!

Well done for coming to the decision to resign Hun, I think you’ve been stressed enough and if this makes life less stressful then well done you.

Sounds like the zoo was a good day, think I might take my 2 next week!
  • Thank you both. I struggled to sleep last night with everything whirling round but feel a bit better this morning. I do think it was the right decision though.

Sam, with 4 teens and then all the washing for charity, we seem to have a never ending supply of washing, i thought it would calm down while they haven't been at school but it hasn't.
I'm trying to keep on top of the tracking to see where all the little bits go. Mostly DH at work and his £5's on beer.

Missymoo, they loved it and are asking to go again. DD1 took us as DH had hurt his back and shes already going again this Friday with her OH.

Been running round this morning as overlaid after finally falling asleep. Sorted DD2 and DH has just gond to drop her at acro camp and fed the other 2 little ones. Need to check bank but DD1 has just arrived as she wants DH to take her car for new tyres because she doesn't know which ones to ask for 🤣 and DH needs a bulb before he can take ours for its MOT, then I AM going to start the boys room!

Will be back to catch up on diaries once I've made DD a tea and at least washed the walls down in the boys room.

  • Glad you can breathe again now with the resignation. Hopefully this will free up some headspace for you.
Nice to have DD round for a cuppa.

Do you really need the storage unit?  When did you last need to access it?  I think we all keep too  much stuff.  Our loft was full but we have been systematically clearing it this year.  No doubt if we had a storage unit we could fill it but I will not pay out for one so we have to be brutal in getting rid of stuff we do not use.

  • Thanks Enthusiasticsaver. Everything in it probably needs to go. The only things we have fetched back are the pool, garden chairs and gazebo. There is a lot of our junk that has gone there to be stored but the original unit was from when DH hired out bouncy castles and balloons and things before his back started giving him problems. I think there's still 5 castles in there (commercial ones with all accessories so takes up a huge amount of space) and shelves and shelves full of balloon/party supply stuff and gifts. Lockdown may have been a great time to sell most of it but we couldn't get access as it wasn't essential. We really do need to make an effort, there is a lot in there to be sold. We were supposed to have had it emptied last year but just haven't managed it.

I have managed nothing in the last few days. I need DH to take down the beds but hes been busy. Then yesterday my sister came to visit with 5 of her children. Was fantastic to finally get cuddles with my youngest niece, she was born end of March. But I am so not used to little ones running around (she has 3 under 3 😱).

I have broken the grocery budget down further this month and its been good to see what actually goes where. Food shopping is just under £500, still more than id like, DH beer has been about £60. There hasn't been much on toiletries and cleaning stuff this month as already had a stock of everything.

DH is fetching bread in the morning as I forgot it on the shopping and cards and chocolates for his dads birthday. I got him some bottles of beer on the order, ordered him a glass and along with the chocolates im going to make it in to a hamper,  should cost less than £20 altogether.

That's great news about the stuff in the unit. Life is so busy in itself so don't be too hard on you, some days you may feel like you've done nothing but I bet you forget all the small things you do to keep on track.
Are you sleeping any better since the resignation? Hope so but may take some time just to feel like you again!
Hamper sounds fab! Lucky dad to have a thoughtful gift , imagine if you had brought that as a pre-made hamper !! Just how expensive it would be so you've saved loads there.
DH and beer lol they all have something don't they ..rolls eyes lol
Your cheesecake sounds amazing .. I'm inspired to try to make one soon! Although I may need your professional guidance
Have a good weekend and keep doing what your doing.
