That is good news @PurpleFairy26 thankfully ours wasn't a cheque just a straight forward refund back to where we had paid from.PurpleFairy26 said:
I disagree with companies refunding by cheque ( unless that is how you paid them) as I think it is a sneaky way to save them money. Even in more normal times, there will be a percentage of cheques that are not banked and in the current situation, I suspect it is much higher.

Evening all
Rain here today, and much cooler (not actually much rain, but better than nothing!). As I watered everything well yesterday, and it is overcast, I have managed to avoid watering today. Will have to check the greenhouse plants though.Walked dog first thing - I am doing 6am walks now instead of 5am, as OH wants to come with me, but annoyingly still wake up before 5! Luckily it wasn't actually raining while we were out, so nothing for the dog to complain about.Filled a couple of compost bags with topsoil left out for free collection by someone up the road, and brought them back. Will be useful to top up my raised beds. Neighbour apparently will have more to collect later.Pulled out some spinach that was starting to bolt, salvaged the useful leaves and composted the restGave sad blueberry that had got frosted a haircut - it is starting to sprout some new growth here and there, so isn't dead as I had feared
The new blueberry bush ordered from an ebay nursery arrived. It is small and spindly looking but seems quite healthy. Will need repotting. So I now have 2
Left out some excess tomato plants for a FB friend to collect on her way to work
Made a loaf in the BMMade some buns and rock cakes, must freeze some in a minuteUsed the spinach up in a potato, chickpea and spinach curryHuge mountain of washing up after all that, and the dishwasher went on as well!Lunch was HM hummus with home grown salad in sandwichesFor dinner OH had more fish cakes and I fancied some of the curryOff to check greenhouse and freeze excess cakes!4 -
Good morning all,
I had quite a good day yesterday and as well as the homeschooling I had chance to straighten out a couple of cupboards. I haven't really been keeping on top of my usual housework bits whilst keeping youngest on track with his schoolwork but we had a better day yesterday which was good.
When I went to pick up my mr t click and collect, I was driving past my friends house and she was out in her garden so I pulled over and we had a lovely little chat for 15 mins (socially distanced of course) it was so lovely to see her in person but felt so strange not greeting and leaving with a cwtch! (hug
)
Todays list
* check banking and update spreadsheet
* free fitness with pe with joe on you tube then one of ds2s school things is to learn a dance routine for a song so I'll do that with him and no doubt end up in a pile of giggles on the floor knowing him and his coordination
* all meals from stores, kids having stewed fruit, yogurt, seeds and nuts for their breakfast (I needed the freezer space so using up the various odds and ends of fruit I've chopped and frozen in the past)
* triage fridge
* update freezer inventory
* talk to mum and dad via facetime later for our daily catch up
* keep an eye out for an email from the school with details of the plans for their return
That's about it, take care one and all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning, later than normal today. I did not feel very well this morning, well I have been feeling really tired of late even when I have no reason to so I requested a consultation with the GP over the phone. So a battery of tests ordered for tomorrow. Query early menopause, anemia or thyroid function. I have no energy for even the smallest non-essential task. So bear with me as my list is small:
- check bank and update budget -Done
- Update freezer/fridge/pantry inventory -Done
- All meals from stores. Chicken curry and rice tonight
- Check surveys
- Purge emails

@Narola1976 i hope u are feeling better soon and they get u sorted with the tests.
@1LuckyLady i'm so glad i never had to do a dance routine with DD when she was growing up. She was too lazy for a start and it would have just ended up in chaos
Celebrations in the house last night, i got the printer working. I copied the ideas that @Baileys_Babe used and it started working last night
Tired today as one of the cats was poorly last night, all underneath my bed
. The cat and me are both feeling very sorry for ourselves.
-Im paperworked out. The project work wanted me to do in a week instead of a few months, almost finished.
-went shopping this morning. I had ran out of milk so did a top up shop. I dont need to go until next week now.
-going to finish cat cleaning in a minute
-DW on
-really need to wrap a birthday present
-more printing to be done today ready for a post office run tomorrow.

The plan is then to do nothing and slob out with the cat for the rest of the day!
