Good morning all,
I'm quickly sneaking on to post whilst ds2 has gone to brush his teeth. He needs the computer for his school work.
Todays list
washed a load on the quick wash and will hang out to dry
cheap but healthy porridge for breakfast
print some work off for ds2 - draft setting to save the ink and printed the 4 pages onto 1 page (he's young and has good eyesight!!)
check banking/update spreadsheet if needed (much easier these days as not going anywhere or doing anything!)
pe with joe on youtube for our exercise plus a walk around the block or two
got loads of spuds in the lidl veg box yesterday so going to make leek and potato soup (to also use some stock I have in the fridge) Will also do sausages, loads of mash and veg for tea
I've managed to book click and collect at mr T for the next 3 Wednesdays so I need to update my order for tomorrow
That's about it, take care all.

Hello Frugalistas,
I haven't posted on the daily thread for ages, although I am still keeping up my dfw diary. Hope everyone is managing to stay well. These are such odd times & I can't really see it improving much in the near future, really.
CLF - Hope you are getting off to a good start with the new job.
Ziggy - Sorry that the depression is doing its thing. I've never suffered from depression, but the couple of years (ages ago now) when I had anxiety disorder were a big lesson in how some days we just definitely don't feel ok. Busy days are better really, as quite slow days can lead to overthinking & the word you used 'spiralling' is very apt, I think. Take care, anyway x
I'm still not writing a daily list & I think I'm being just as productive. I still have to write tasks which are time limited in my diary so as not to forget them, but otherwise, I am kind of having a couple of priorities each day, & then doing all my daily stuff as usual. I have spent most of lockdown knocking the veggie garden into shape, but I have already talked a lot about my garden in my diary, so I won't repeat myself on here. I haven't deviated from budgeting over the last few months, but we are still spending too much on groceries due to a number of issues.....usual brands/supermarket's own label not being available, shortages of certain items meaning that we will buy extra if we do see them, etc, etc. Our home improvements programme stopped for Lockdown, then started again, then stopped mid-job because of an active jackdaw's nest in our chimney. The main work wasn't booked in until the end of August anyway, so we haven't lost our builders' slot on that, thankfully.
Well, I'd better do today's diary post before getting on with this afternoon's planned activities. I thought I'd pop on here & say 'hello' & to tell you that I am still being a sensible budget girl!
Love to all & stay safe,
F xx

Evening all
Seems to have been one of those days when not much has been achieved for some reason. However, small wins and all that, I have managed:Early morning dog walk as usualChecked banks and updated spreadsheetGave bathroom a good cleanFinished up some soup that need using, for lunchFroze some other stuff in the fridge for laterBoiled up last of the old potatoes, mashed them and added tinned fish, parsley and seasoning and made a big batch of fish cakes, so that was dinner sorted, both for tonight and tomorrow. Used up a slightly ood tin of anchovies in the mix (made them less boring that just tinned tuna)Picked a few strawberries for our fruit salad later
Watered the back gardenSorted out the sad blueberry bush. I thought it had died, but it has some new shoots appearing, so I pruned it back, put it up on pot feet to allow it to drain properly and gave it a feed and water. Coincidentally the new blueberry plant I ordered appeared today, and I must go out and repot it in a minute. It is a bit weedy looking, but seems healthy and will soon grow. Also intend to wash my hair shortly, so that it can dry before bedtime.2 -
Belated birthday wishes @PurpleFairy26 sounds like u had a good day.
Hoping the new job is going well @carrielovesfanta
@natlie i was bullied at work. This is going back years now. I was only young, took advice and told to just get myself out. I knew no better. It later turned out another member of staff did take action against the boss who was bullying. I had a message from the bullying boss to ask if i would do a statement for her. I refused. The member of staff who took action did get a payout and the boss was sacked. I do believe in karma but its the pits when u are going thru it.
Im having a moment like @Baileys_Babe did last week with the printer. Have turned it off for the night.
Have been mad busy. The piece of paperwork i was dodging i have only managed to get it done today-relieved!
I was asked by work if a project that would normally take a couple of months to do, could i complete in a week. So far ahead of schedule but it has been hard going.
*pleased to say i had actually did my spends book for May and closed the month off. Thought i had spent more than i had esp with DD being home. I think its bec alot of home cooking from scratch was done.
*used the last of my RM stamps to post a birthday present (no spends, present had been sitting in my stash for ages)
*posted a RM survey item today.
*highlight of my day, choosing what zoflora smell i was going to buy!
*picked up bits in h.bargains i had missed or refused to buy from morries yesterday
*actually managed to bank cheques today that has proved mission impossible. One cheque was £50 back from car insurance
Thats about it from me. Stay safe everyone x

Ahh i love this. Im new to the forum hope you don't mind me jumping on this. Not quite as savvy as you guys just yet but I'm trying! This month for the first time ever I've budgeted to the pence! Not cut my shopping down as much as I'd liked nor meal prepped as much as I'd liked (I work shifts and 2 children so most days il admit I just cannot be bothered) but I need to put my finger out as lately my mental health has been dia. I'm currently saving for a mortgage plus paying off my debts plus.....im tipping the scales. Im so big at the minute really want to get healthier. Maybe I need to set myself small steps like you say. Stay safe everyone have a nice week xx8

Morning all and welcome to the thread @jazzyja
@ziggy2407 sorry to hear you're feeling low, take care lovely lady .
I've not slept well, I think its because I read something online last night just before going to bed about the schools going back and it just set my brain off thinking
Daft really as I knew we have an announcement due here in Wales by our education minister today, so we'll see what that brings. Anyway I'm up and about so making the most of the peace and quiet.
Today I will
check banking & update spreadsheet done
wipe out fridges, make sure nothing is going to waste
pick up a click and collect at Mr T this afternoon
I've got lots of spuds left so might follow Dawn and make fishcakes for a change as I know I've got some mackerel
we are forecast to have rain today, so exercise dvds will be coming back out along with doing pe with joe on youtube with the kids
Right, I've time for a quick cuppa before the rest of the house get up, take care all.
