What small DFW things will you do w/c 1st June?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Happy birthday @PurpleFairy26, hope you have a great day. Good luck on the new job @carrielovesfanta. Well yesterday was busy. I tidied the kitchen a bit and made a sausage casserole - my first time ever. I am not a very good cook but trying to learn. It wasn’t entirely from scratch using one of those casserole sachets from Colmans which you make up with water but better than nothing. And it was edible, hurrah!! I didn’t have time to make biscuits as I had to install OH’s new printer as I am the technical bod in the family and that was a job and it made me rather hot and bothered.
Onward today then:- Check bank and update budget - Done
- Make a post on DFW for advice re BT - Done
- Load dishwasher - Done
- Marinade chicken for dinner - Done
- Wash the last few dishes that could not fit in dishwasher
- Look into applying for a tax rebate for working from home- did not know this was possible until CV-19 and I have been working from home for years and years!
- Purge emails
- Check PA for surveys - Done, but will keep looking
Have a good day all

@Narola1976 I love a Colman's sausage casserole! Tastes just home-made enough but just processed enough to be popular with the whole family...not too much like my cooking...
Also, same with working from home. Who knew? How many years can I possibly claim relief on??
Today- -try not to go to Starbucks. I have been LOADS since it reopened for drive thru because it has been somewhere to go out of the house plus I get my vital alone time for writing/thinking etc. but must revert to taking a flask.
- -continue with (gasp) diet. It's the well-known one with two shakes a day then a meal. :-) I have 2 stone to lose and am trying to motivate myself by losing a chunk with this method. We'll see. Will I be thin again? (Not if I keep going to Starbucks...)
- -work. I am behind.
- -water the plants
- -dinner from stores
- -do a washing load, and put on the line. Sooo sunny!
- -order some clothes for DD. The dog keeps eating her socks.
- -break off from work for long periods to try to enforce homework. It's not worked in 10 weeks but I keep trying.

Hi All,
Firstly hello I'm back, I haven't posted here for ages! I have been through a really tough time the last year, I started a new job in April 2019 and went through 9 months of bullying which was horrendous and my mental health really suffered. The lockdown has been an absolute godsend as I don't have to face the people that bullied me and I had managed to deal with one of them before Christmas.
This week I decided to speak to Step Change for the first time, I am getting advice on my debt and hopefully starting a DMP soon, which will leave me £700 better off per month. I should have done this in 2017 instead of paying just interest for the past 3 years.
I am looking forward to reading all of your posts again.
Today:
Making baked potatoes and salad for dinner with hummus - got shopping coming on Wednesday but down to our last bits now
Dishes done
Cycle around the park with DS

Hello to all
Its been a busy first day back to homeschooling as ds1 is starting on his options subjects he's quite excited bless him (I don't expect the excitement to extend beyond tomorrow though tbh!)
In the way of small things
washed a load on the quick wash, hung out to dry and will hang straight away - no ironing here!
switched all sockets off that weren't in use
got a lidl cheap veg box via my dad -
I have 5 limes what should I use them for?
any good ideas welcome
use ups for lunch (cheap but healthy porridge for breakfast)
chicken dinner for tonight , was going to have salad again but we got loads of smallish potatoes, cabbage and broccoli in the veg box.
Thats it for now as ds1 needs the computer to hand in some work! , take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon all
Tired.com. Didn't sleep well, and restocked my shop space this morning, which involved lots of heaving about of heavy boxes. Still, OH did the hoovering, and is cooking the dinner
He wanted sausages and chips and I reckon he knew there was a danger I might make some veggie thing...
Other small things:Decent dog walk first thing - free exercise before anyone else much was about
Just done the watering. I flooded everything yesterday in the hope that not too much would need it today. But it has been sooo hot that it was all dried out again. Apparently supposed to be cooler after tomorrow.Load of washing dried on line, must get it in shortly.Made a loaf in the BM.Picked enough mangetout and broad beans for dinner
Started a shopping list. I have an As*a delivery booked for the 10th. Do I need an Icyland one before then (it is easy to get next day deliveries from Icyland round here now). I think not. I will try to manage with what we have in.Still need to check the banks and update spreadsheet.CLF, hope today went well
Natlie, welcome back, sorry to hear that you have had a bad time. Well done on seeking advice from Step Change, hopefully it will put your mind at rest.Purps, happy birthday

Morning one and all. Welcome back natlie sorry to hear the job has been difficult. Feeling a bit meh this morning. Woke at 4m, debated getting up but still felt rough so managed to get back to sleep until 6. But feeling physically tired. And really not happy to have my morning disturbed as DD has decided to watch you tube on the TV which is distracting and really annoying me. I really value the peace and quiet in the early morning with my coffee and MSE. I wish now I had got up at 4.
- Need to order my prescription as I forgot yesterday, and running out of meds.
- B/L/D from stores - seafood paella on the menu for dinner
- Tax rebate - did not manage it yesterday.
- Apply for a BT
