Morning everyone, glad it's Friday & a bit cooler so i can continue my ceiling painting after work. DD1 had a lovely birthday on Wednesday. DD2 contacted various family and friends and got them to send video messages which she put together in a mini film - DD1 was delighted & a few tears were shed! Work has been busy and keep having video meetings so have to look respectable! Not so easy in this heat when i want to wear a sundress with no bra!
A new teacher on Fb asked for recommendations for books for high school students as she wants to encourage reading - a few people offered her books and i went in the garage and found 8 which she collected yesterday. She was very grateful and so was i as it was a bit more decluttering and hopefully will be useful and encourage her pupils to read - good for her for trying this. Everybody wins!
Gratitudes - DD1 had a lovely birthday, DD2 for being such a thoughtful sister, both DDs for having lovely kind friends, getting things ticked off my 'to do' list
hope everyone has a good day

June Challenge Day 26
How to Begin Again: 5 Steps to Get You Started
You may have life changes, be thinking about the next six months or just July or just having a day when your 'get up and go' went without you. Whatever is making you 'stuck' here are some steps to help
1) Step 1 Assess Your Here and Now
Stop and be still. You need to know and accept where you are now. Start with anything that calms your mind - meditation, music, reading, walking - whatever works for you. Then write down a list of what is and isn't working in your life
2) Step 2: Evaluate Your Options
Review your list and symbolically cross out the things that aren't working - you don't want to be doing those any more. create another list of possible solutions - brainstorm jotting down any ideas that occur to you, however daft or pie in the sky they may be. Then ask yourself a few questions to narrow down your options (you can't do it all at once). Some questions might be
a) Is this a realistic option for me at this point in my life?
b) What would be involved in making this change or choice?
c) Does anyone else in my family need to be onboard for me to make this happen?
3) Step 3: Choose Your Destination and the Best Way to Get There
Once you have narrowed your options to 3 or less, choose the one that intuitively feels the best and commit (doesn't have to be forever - just your next best step). Then start to gather all the information you need. There's always more than one way to get somewhere, what works for someone else may not be right for you.
4) Step 4: Create Your Roadmap and Timetable
You know where you are going and how to get there. What resources, tools and expertise are already in your life and what do you need to add? Do you have a support team, can you get additional resources - make sure as much as possible is in place to help you succeed
5) Step 5: Take Your First Step and Continue Each Day
Time for action. Break your journey into small daily actions (baby steps) that keep you motivated and going in the right direction. Celebrate along the way
CRISIS Time
If you're having a really bad day (week/ month/ year), your mental health takes a sudden nosedive, or just something important going wrong (anything from a death to a broken washing machine - when you are going through it. it's important).
Stop. Breathe. Just think about getting through the next 24 hours.
1) Food What are you going to eat? For your next meal, for the rest of the day, the rest of the week - but what do you need now?
2) Clothes Have you something clean to put on? Even if it's nightclothes. Clean clothes (or sheets if you really can't face getting out of bed) will make you feel better. Stick a load in the washer (unless that's what's broken) and let it get on with it.
3) Bills Bills, paperwork, any urgent tasks that must be done (it's easier to collapse/relax if you know there's nothing that will come back and bite you later on.
Have a bath/shower or wash if you physically can (I'm loving the integral seat in mum's shower - I can sit down, lean against the wall and just let the water pour over me, directing the jet at all my aching muscles). Do as many things as you can to improve your mental health even if it's only sleep. Quiet your mind, escape into a good book, no benefit will come from letting the issue circle round and round in your mind.

Today I am grateful for the thunder and rain in the night, for the men coming to collect the rubbish from the boiler replacement, for some sunbathing time with podcasts, for fresh water, for the breeze picking up, for discovering that the airing cupboard is almost big enough for Harry P0tter to sleep in now that we have emptied it!

Grateful today for:
it being the weekend so no homeschooling to contend with ☺️The rain that’s come down overnight 🌈
Our lovely house 🏠 that we’ve spent so much time in, but makes us feel safe6 -
Yesterday was NSD No 21
We had thunder and heavy rain first thing yesterday but things didn't cool down very much. It's supposed to rain today so hopefully that will lower the temperature a bit.
Been too hot to do much for the last couple of days so hoping to get on with things today.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Still on NSD No 21.
Tesco delivery - nothing missing and no substitutions.
Defosted and tidied both freezers. At least I know what is in there now. An awful lot again. It doesn't matter how much I try it always seems to be full. Obviously we're buying too much!!! Although the meal planning did go out the window this week because it's been so hot and we've only been eating salads and omelettes.
Really looking forward to tomorrow. For the first time since mid March the Boy is coming for dinner. Roast chicken dinner and a proper chat. Not just five minutes on the phone every day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
