Hi everyone
thank you mothernerd for those words which are sobering and thought provoking. And your post above which made me smile
I've had a few busy days at my FT job, feeling more settled with work now and enjoyed our virtual team meeting.
I'm going to have a quiet day, pottering at home but will have to brave the shops later - tending to go once a week now. I've had refunds back on shoes i returned and some money in from Bay of E sales; I also relisted 3 things and have bids on 2. It took me ages to list everything on Bank Holiday Monday but i'm very glad i did
Hoping to get some washing dry and have a walk, between showers.
Gratitudes - DD1 coping with a week back in work; DD1's bestie bringing us a sweet treat last night; lovely phone call with former colleague; windy day blowing my washing dry.

Hi everyone,
I managed to get a nice walk to the shops with both my ds this morning before the rain started so returned my parcel. Other than that I have done two surveys on YouGov and am now over half way to my £50.00I have also watched space jam (classic) with my littlest and have signed up to eBay today and listed a few items. We are now going to make jelly, Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Today I’m greatful that my eldest ds2 (9) asked to come walk with us first thing in the morning, he’s not an early bird and got us all to a great start to the day

Mothernerd, I, for one, are not at all offended by your post. I agree with every single word and I am seriously concerned that we have eased lockdown too soon and that it has been damaged by those who should know better and be leading by example.
So today was NSD No 5. I've been really productive and even managed to wrap some on Himself's birthday presents. A while to go but at least I feel I'm in control of something. Tomorrow is Sunday (anyone else having to constantly remind themselves of what day it is?) so I'm going to do the minimum and relax a little. I must say, though, that getting back to making lists and ticking things off is having a great effect. Everything is looking clean and tidy and that's lifting my mood enormously. Actually, Himself thinks I'm getting a bit obsessive on the cleaning front . Says he can't find anything because I've tidied it away. Usually it's right in front of his nose!
Have a lovely weekend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Cold and wet here - although still not wet enough to penetrate the soil properly!
Thankful for fluffy slippers, lemon cake, hot cups of tea, a lazy Saturday!

Today I am grateful for an utterly lazy day, for getting my bike in the house from the garage (75m away from the house) and ready to use tomorrow, for a lot of rain, for the changing light as the clouds thicken and thin out again, for starting on 3 more Mickey Mouse face masks, for the Sewing Bee.

Apple muncher another sewing bee fan here. Although I must admit to stumbling across it on iplayer and watched 5 episodes over the course of a few days. And then it stopped I didn’t realise it was currently ‘on’ tv so then had to wait for the weekly episodes to air. I assumed it was an old programme. Now trying to see if I can find the previous series anywhere. With ^^ in mind. I’m grateful that it’s further inspired me to try and sew some more. I’d already started doing some research and have stuff to make some things. Grateful I have a sewing machine that was gifted and a lovely sewing book I was also gifted a few years ago. And also grateful for a lovely local craft business I found during lockdown who is doing home deliveries for shielding people and will deliver small purchases. Will definitely continue to use them going forward (didn’t know they existed before).6

Good Morning!
MIA yesterday as was staying with the folks with a non-existent signal. Had a lovely time... still trying to find ways around my Mum (who has Alzheimer's) not becoming so upset when it is time for me to leave. I have tried giving her advanced notice so it's not such a shock etc She can become quite upset/off-hand with me. Yesterday I didn't make such a big deal of it and was just quite matter of fact and stressing on how I'd be seeing her soon... That seemed to work a little better. Of course - what works this week might be an epic fail next week! I also have to try and not get upset by her being upset/off with me, remembering that it is the disease that is affecting her reasoning and my Mum if she were of sound mind, would not behave like that. It's a learning curve - but is lovely that she values me being there so much.
Yesterday and today turned out to be spend days - so will make an effort next week to rake in a bunch of NSDs. Today I am going to go through budgets again now I have a plan with my car, and see what is left at the other side. Went through all my credit cards and closed a few, keeping only the ones that give something back). They are all at zero balance though now - YAY!...
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time spent with parent s and the laughs we shared
2) A day to myself to take stock and relax
3) My little flat and my car that make my life so much easier and more comfortable
Have a lovely Sunday everyone x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
