Abundant - when we have to say goodbye to mum (alzheimers + vascular dementia) me + my sis both say we'll come and see her tomorrow, which makes leaving her so much easier, and is the right thing to say for her. It leaves her happy, and secure that we will be back. Don't know if your mum if 'far enough on' for that. I've not seen mum since mid Dec, due to circumstances + then the care home shutting its doors to visitors. It's hard, but they've had no cases at all, so it's worth it.

Morning, please do not temper your posts @mothernerd I find them very helpful. It is A slow journey for me, trying to balance everything and feeling very alone at times so this page really helps. Today so far has been good, the tired feeling I had yesterday has not shown itself today and so I have been able to do some baking which I had wanted to do for the last few days. Fining the motivation to do small household tasks is hard but I really must keep trying.
Today I hope to rest a bit. I have prepare the roast for later, peeled the potatoes for roasties and they all will just go into the oven in time for an early supper. Lunch is last night’s left overs. DD is working today so I like to have the meal ready for when she returns.
Dear me, just realised I forgot too add what i am grateful for:
Ability to call mum abroad at no additional cost
For a few hours to myself

Afternoon all! The day is getting away from me already. Rang the over 70s to keep them cheery, did the meter readings, and after 8 days I have managed to shift one very stubborn lb. Hopefully the rest will be easier but that one was a shocker! 🍾DH got a free 7 day trial of D1sney+ so we are watching The Mandal0rean (only 8 episodes at 35 odd minutes each) and last night we had a film night and watched the last StarWars film (number IX). Today we will watch the last 3 Mandalorean episodes. Job done. Cost £0. 🚀Tomorrow will be a spend day - today is NSD5, The plan is to buy some compost and pots while doing the very small weekly shop tomorrow and then get those🌱 potting up jobs out of the way and off my list.I am on cushion number 5 🧵. I love the GBSB as well!!I think I have a cunning plan as to how to get my lazy monsters to do their flippin homework. 📚 📚 📚Keep being fabulous mothernerd4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

June Challenge Day 7
Celebrations
World Food Safety Day Serendipitously the National Farmers Union has a petition to not allow imports of chlorinated chicken and other meat with food safety and animal welfare issues. So look at the evidence, make your own mind up, act accordingly.
National Chocolate Ice Cream Day Everyone else is welcome to have my share.
Simplify Your Routines
I was trying to find a TED talk I once watched so cue massive deviation into watching TED talks (only 3):
The Philosophy of Time Management BRAD AEON - about getting away from the business model (getting more work out of people) and back to it's original roots in making life meaningful. (a little gloomy in places but ends hopefully - don't watch if feeling low)
How to Multiply Your Time RORY VADEN. The nearest to the talk I was trying to find - The Time Management Matrix (x-axis Urgency, y-axis Importance) with a 3rd dimension Significance (the talk I remembered included enjoyment/satisfaction). Quote of the Day "How does it feel to know that really we are all just a bunch of juggling hamsters sprinting towards an inevitable crash." Very funny and informative and I noticed lots of ideas that relate to practical things I do in real life. The one to watch if you only have time for one (please exercise caution when watching TED talks, can be addictive and then you wonder where the day went).
Designing Your Life BILL BURNETT. Interesting (bit American - do not like what he does with the word 'idea') but more of an amble down a country lane.
The internet has lots of information on creating simple routines. I will return to this topic.
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler (Albert Einstein)

Have emailed a couple of friends.

I'm trying to get into a routine. A simple one would be good. It's coming along, though. A couple of small extra things every day and it gets easier and quicker . Today, being Sunday, I've done just the minimum but that's more than I usually would (Terrible admission of just how lazy I am!)
Spent the afternoon watching some films. Dinner is in the slow cooker and after that I'm off to bed to read my book.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
I'm grateful for the cold North winds and drizzle as it's kept the general public indoors and allowed us time to wrap up, get outdoors and go rock pooling. I forgot there was a virus about for a little while.
In not so good news is the kettle went bust while we were out so I'm pan boiling coffee water for a while and yesterday my sourdough starter hit the floor whilst in a glass bowl. A tiny amount has been saved and sieved incase of glass and now I feed it up again. I admit to it setting me off to cry but that's OK, I probably needed it and today has just been lovely. What we loose in life we gain in other ways I guess.5 -
I have managed to have a good route around the cupboards and freezer and have done a meal plan for the week...popped to the shop and bought the bits I needed £30 so hopefully I won’t have to go back again. Sticking to it will be another thing
On a slightly more positive note I have actually sat down and done a little bit of my Uni work that I have been putting off for weeks, I have set a full day aside tomorrow for this but feel as though I have got my head back into it a little which will help.
I am just about to dish up tea which is sausage casserole veg and mash, I love a real winter tea in this weather.
Only other plans are to have a nice soak tonightxx

Today I am grateful for finishing a 25-day set of workouts, for getting out with dd on our bikes to drop off bday presents to a friend (only 3 miles total, but plenty for us!), for the afternoon rain while we were inside, for dd doing her hwk, for still waking up early without setting an alarm.

Good morning!!!
Apple - Thanks for the advice re. Mum. I may try that. I've been saying I'll be there next week which may seem like a long time for her. And thinking on... even though I said that... she had told my sister I was meant to be there the following day... so perhaps that time-sense has gone. I will give it a go...
Enjoying the quotes Mothernerd and always inspire or give me a giggle.
Back in work today and looking forward to a week off next week
Today I am grateful for:
1) Bloggers on YouTube that help me learn new things
2) For a regular income and financial stability during these times
3) My flat and the shelter it provides me
Have a good day folks!
