Absolutely!! It doesn't look like I will be starting the new job until Mid January now so I need to take the money wherever I can!
January is always a tight month for people after Christmas.......I will have to treat it as a challenge all of its own!!
Better get off now, though, otherwise I won't get paid at all!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Morning all. Work at the uni today. Normally I grab lunch from one of the many student canteens, but as part of the "give up xyz" challenge I need to take my lunch and a flask of coffee.
I hope everyone has a good day today x
What, like this one:
Should get you through to lunch time at least :rotfl: :rotfl: (so probably needs a refill around now  )A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Ah, Ali, so you snook in to my sparkling kitchen and taken a photo of my flask on my gleaming worktops, together with the batch of home made biscuits I whipped up before work this morning!!

Home after home and karate, to find a lovely bill for my Cert Ed......bloomin cheek as they haven't yet paid me my grant to cover it! Oh well, it will go in the "pending" pile of paperwork I think! I am not making much of an effort to pay it if they owe me an identical amount of money
Apart from that I got a free £20 bingo money "come back" bonus through the post, so that will keep me amused for at least 10 seconds at some point this week!!
Dinner is being whipped up in the microwaveas we speak........microwave meals were on offer in the supermarket.....sometimes, needs must!!

Hi Hypno, I recorded the Liverpool Nativity last night. As BF is from there, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I think its repeated on BBC1 or BBC2 on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. I'm knackered, but waiting on DD coming home from the school dance. And so it begins.....0

Last day of term today so the children are quite happy! My last opportunity to get some housework done before I get side tracked with all their activities etc!
Paperwork as well today - May try the half hour on half hour off thing again - seems to work quite well!

Morning
A day at home today. We reworked the grotto rotas got rid of half day shifts so we both got a couple of days off between now and Christmas. Christmas tree gets delivered today but I suspect won't be going up til Thursday or Friday.
Son will be sulking as once he's out of his pit his room is going to be attacked and cleared of all excess junk-bin or cellar for most of it. Off to the cinema tonight-his choice so heaven knows what we'll be seeing.
Time for one more coffee then off to do a very poor imitation of Flylady
Good luck with the big clear up today HypnoI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Morning KC and Duchy!!
I have just signed up for another challenge - "2008 - live off £4k for a year". Will be bloomin hard, but might just make me stick to that spending diary and budget budget budget!!
This money will cover food, birthdays, activities etc etc. It does not include petrol for work, debt payments, mortgage, utility bills etc.
So, is it doable? I am going to give it a try. Christmas 2008 will hopefully be taken care of with the Free Christmas challenge, so it really is just a case of careful and savvy shopping, meal planning, not wasting food, taking pack ups etc etc.
Obviously, it won't start until Jan 1st, so I have a couple of weeks to try and get my head around it!
