Well, thankfully Pania omitted to bring the handmade snowman decoration thingies, so I didn't have to be polite and pretend that they looked fab :rotfl:
Have been into the City today and did a mystery shop - nice quick one but £20 for my efforts, which will come through sometime in the new year - all very welcome.
Also went shopping courtesy of pigsback vouchers - got 2 pairs of trousers half price in Wallis for the new job, and bought a game from boots, but as everything is 3 for 2 I managed to get 2 more games, which can be put in the cupboard for next year......All in all I spent the grand total of £3 :j
Also, took a ski coat back that we bought DD which was too small, and bought a replacement which was £10 less than the original! So all in all I came away with lots of shopping bags, and £7 more than I started :T

Woo-Hoo sounds like your day was luckier than mine.
I got a wailing phonecall....."My caaaaar won't start" so I ended up going into work anyway to open up. Ah well extra wages and DS decided it was too cold to go to the cinema and settled for a "treat" from the shops. Worked out very MSE as I told him he could choose anything-and all he wanted was some smarties and a bag of Twiglets !!
Thursday will now be manic but tonight is just going to be a little bit of painting (the wall variety not canvas) and veg in front of the telly.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
smarties and a bag of twiglets - you have got him well trained :T
At least you get the extra money for doing the extra shift - all helps, but make sure that you do put your feet up tonight, otherwise you will be a tired little elf!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi everyone, bit late here. Thanks for giving me a smile reading this thread, as some of you know i could do with it. Thanks to those who have pmd me, and I am truely grateful to you all.
Hypno your enthusiasm spurs me on.
Had a no spend day today. Yepee, and while reading another thread I realised I have 80euros still in my purse from October holiday, so if I run out of dosh, I could always change it in M&S, or of course use it as my savings for the next year.. YepeeWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Brrrr :snow_grin it is so so so so cold! I will have to keep busy today just to keep warm!
The children have broken up now, so are having a lay in - only the student to go to school, then she goes home to Norway tomorrow. Still got all the presents to wrap etc, so will aim to do that today, along with a bit more admin catch up - seems never ending! Also need to book the accommodation for the last part of the children's ski season today - thankfully only a deposit required at the moment.
I hope everyone has a good day and stays nice and cosy warm :snow_grinSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno, going to be watching the £4k challenge with interest! As I said on the thread I'm not joining in because that's pretty much what I spend anyway, but that's only for little me. I'm sure if anyone can do it, you can!
Love the £7 profit shopping, fantastic work!

I NEED the discipline of posting daily spends and working out how much I have left per week/month/year to keep within our budget. I am not using it so much as a challenge to live on less than usual, in order to pay off extra or save money up, but rather to keep me on the straight and narrow so I can continue to meet my minimum payments and get to the end of the year without being in any additional debt!
I suppose I am using it simply as a way of focusing my mind and consolidating the knowledge that I have gained in my year of being a DFW!!
I am aiming to do a "timetable for Christmas" today - working out who we will see and when, meal plan, and list of jobs that need to be done.......wish me luckSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Good luck! I'm starting my Christmas preparations today too, although I feel more like crawling back to bed with a hot water bottle! Oh well, the school run will wake me up no doubt."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
