Ah thanks cheery, I’m getting there slowly, currently all holed up under my blanket right now. Haven’t done any budgeting, just feeling fat too tired. Will do some tomorrow.

    Morning!

So OH can see more or less With th contact lenses he has been given! Which is awesome! As it has changed his mood and means he can take some of the workload back!

Am just washing some clothes And will haNg those As the bed linen is washing. Our bedclothes have pretty much taken themselves to the washing machine 🤦🏻‍♀️. Have work tonight and will do carbonara for dinner. Need to do some shopping at some point.

Had a lovely time with the children last night going through a list of ways we can help the environment and writing our lists of in season fruits and vegetables. So we’re going to go to Tesco tomorrow and see if we can get everything for within budget!

Still need to clean out the fridge! Also need to pick up clothes, cups and empty the bin before work.

    Speak soon

Sorry to hear about OH, hope his mood improves soon.

I was going to say about Lidl's porridge oats being in paper.

If you want to reduce your carbon impact - you will make a bigger difference reducing food waste than you will with plastic.  Something like 1/3rd of food waste produced globally is wasted and if it was a country, it would be the 3rd largest emitter of carbon.
All stretchy plastic like bread bags etc can be recycled in the carrier bag collection points.
Terracycle recycle a lot of hard to recycle items like crisp packets, pouches and stuff and you can look for local collection points on their website https://www.terracycle.com/en-GB/brigades

    Good luck :)

Glad to hear OH can see again Missy! Should make your life a bit easier I hope.

Our local Transition Towns group has set up recycling points in the local supermarket for hard to recycle stuff (batteries, crisp packets, toothpaste tubes etc) so there may be something locally. I confess I often don't remember they exist until I'm already there without any recycling!

Thanks J Wil and cheery! I’m very excited about going shopping with the children tomorrow. I’ll have a look in my big supermarket and see about the recycling. We’re going to have a look at all the organic non plastic wrapped items, along with our list or seasonal stuff. We’re going to make spicy parsnip soup and homemade bread for lunch, and pizza and wedges for dinner. Maybe I’ll try some rice pudding too.

Need to think about washing up liquid and fabric conditioner options.

hmmmm haven’t paid my CC yet this month. Haven’t got enough in the bank to pay it. I’m going to see if I’ll have enough when I get paid on Monday.

@missymoo81 it's worth paying what you can today and it will reduce any interest due if you can't manage the full amount on Monday.  You can always top up on Monday once you get paid to pay it off in full.

Thanks @joedenise I need to check as to whether I need to pay for anything else before I transfer it over. Because I’ve had to cancel things I haven’t had the block payments through yet which I was hoping for.

ok so I spent £3.35 in Costalot coffee with the children, should have been £8 odd but used my card app. Spent £42
on shopping which is more than I wanted but me and the children did a very sustainable low carbon footprint etc etc grocery shop. Everything we bought was either unwrapped or in recyclable packaging, we bought organic milk and quorn mince and chicken, not going to tell OH. The absolute hardest thing to buy was cheese. We went to Tesco and 2 different farm shops and they all were wrapped in unrecyclable plastic! Need to think more about that and see what I can do. Managed to get toilet roll, toilet cleaner, washing up liquid and fabric softener all of the Ecover variety, apart from toilet roll which was something or other panda.

To be honest me and the littlies had an amazing time doing it, we really enjoyed it. But I am exhausted. OH didn’t sleep well last night and was tossing and turning all night, so consequently so was I, but I had to get up at 7 where as he slept until 11. He’s gone for a hair cut and to see his friend. I’m hoping to take the children to the cinema later.

Soup is almost cooked, I really hope the children like it.

    Well done on the eco-shop!

Can you get your cheese from the deli counter and take your own container instead?

Terracycle do have a cheese packet recycling programme so it's worth seeing if there are any near you.  Lots of our collection points have closed down recently sadly :(

The children ‘liked’ the soup but not much 🙄.  I’ve managed to get ken load of washing washed and dried outside. I don’t usually dry stuff outside this time of year but I just thought I’d try and I’m glad I did. The fabric conditioner actually smells ok. Which is a huge achievement for me with my addiction to clothes smelling good!

    Have a couple of problems.
I need another whole load Of money to break even this month!
    So I need:
    £52 for outstanding direct debits
    £450 Credit Card repayment
    £270 tax
    £30 staff cover
    £25 half term activities
    =£827

    i desperately wanted to save
£165 for christmas and Roos birthday presents, But that’s going to have to just be at the bottom of the list.

so I have £417 in the bank at present. So that leaves £410 to find.

    I should have:
    £50 2 x PT
    £100 block PTs
    £100 Block PTs
    £144 wages
    £50 friend PT

    =£444
Ok so not as bad, So £34 over and I have some cash in the car if there’s anything I need from the shop before the 1st. But I’ll put that £34 to the present fund. Just hope everyone pays!

First day of half term and children have driven me to distraction. I’m super tired and have a PT in half an eye, really need to get changed. So happy that tomorrow’s 0630 client has cancelled! I didn’t know how I was going to get up.

I’m cooking carbonara for dinner and I am absolutely going to have the Little bottle of red wine That’s languishing in the cupboard! Very excited about it to be honest!

After reading @Bluegreen143 Diary I have looked at the £4k for a year thread and @weezls thread both are from 2008/9 so prices are very different but we were in the middle of a recession so some great scrimping ideas, I’m going to see how my outgoings add up and see if I can do my own little challenge. Hope you’re all ok x
