Hey BlueGreen I was going to get them from Tesco’s. I don’t mean a big party I mean my dad and OHs brother and 1 set of friends who are in our social bubble. I’m going to have a think as to whether that’s ok or not.Went to my sisters, lovely to see her got a meal deal for lunch as was out but OH paid for nephews birthday present. Did spend £20 yesterday on lunch though as OH couldn’t find His card. Going to have a look at the budget again. OH I’d paying for my service and MOT tomorrow.
i hope you’ve all had good days. Mines been terribly long. But work is done and I have an evening off. Just sitting with the children whilst they have pita bread and bits and pieces for dinner, me and OH are having something or other later. He’s asleep at the moment.2 -
Feeling a bit rubbish again today. Think I’m tired. Someone had phoned in sick so OH is probably going to have to work the early shift tomorrow which was supposed to be our Halloween. Which pretty much takes out the whole day. So I’m going to have to do it on my own and OH will be asleep. And that means between us we’re working every day and won’t get time off and together until Sunday 😢. And a combination of early and late shifts which makes for a v grumpy couple.
also annoyed with myself as when we did the sustainable shop, I was great at getting my plastic free shopping I forgot staples like beans, pasta, tomatoes crisps and chocolate bars and cereal. So still need to get all of that! Grrrrrrr!2 -
Sorry about the whingey post yesterday. Just tired I think. But actually managed a little lay in this morning. So feel much better. Just having a coffee then off to Halloween with the children. Need to get pumpkins. And some fruit as per Jamie Oliver’s Instagram, we’ll love doing that! What’s a scary dinner? Apparently spaghetti as worms doesn’t count.Have actually managed to train this week which has really helped my head. Have had some money come in. Just waiting for it to clear so o can clear off the last of the payments this month. I’m still a little bit down but I’m hoping next month should even it all out.2

Really struggling with my mood at the moment, keep going into a really unhappy grumpy state. Not even sure why. Just think I’m rubbish at my job and my sport and I Feel like I look rough as anything and could do with losing some weight and just feeling generally bleugh bleugh bleugh and I don’t know how to get out of it. absolutely hate feeling like this. Today is the worst I’ve felt in a long time.2

Aw Missy, have a hug (((((())))))( things are tough right now! There are lots of reasons to not feel on top of the world, please dom't beat yourself up xxx But also don't be afraid of having a word with the doctor if this feels like more then just a day or two of feeling under the weather xxx
Hope you're fast asleep by now. Xx1 -
Thanks cheery. OH has just got home and tried to make me feel better. But he’s very much tough love and it hasn’t really helped. I now just feel like I’ve been told off.

Hi @missymoo81 I've just caught up with your diary. You've had a tough October. Some close members of my family are complete mardy pants so I really can sympathise with you on your OH.
Enjoyed reading about your eco endeavors. I will have a look at some of the suggestions you and some of the other posters said as I too feel there is too much plastic packaging. I'm not sure whether you have considered this or not but for crisps / popcorn and other such snacks for kids and adults I actually no longer buy individual bags and now buy the big bags and decant them into re-usable tubs I have at home. This principle could be used for bigger bags of rice, pasta etc.
Have you looked at smol for your clothes washing tablets. They are a subscription service, have environmental credentials and pretty good value. I don't drive so anything I can get delivered esp the bulky items are a winner in my book. I get a veggie box delivered minimum once a month, its a food waste box with wonky veg and love it. Never quite know what is in the box. I'm another fan of Jack Monroe but my kids and OH are meat eaters so a bit limited. My best eco product though had to be the small chest freezer bought in January. This might be a bit controversial but honestly I have little food waste as every scrap of leftovers is chucked in a tub and frozen for another meal and through lockdown meant less relying on going to the shops.
Honestly you are amazing lady, please take care of yourself, your doing great things. Enjoy halloween, fireworks and the weekend.2025 financial goals & challenges!

@missymoo81, lol you are actually not that bad. Its good to vent though.
I lost my job back in June and while the kids were off school in lockdown I didn't job hunt as tbh too much was going on. Anyway fast forward to Sept and I had some wobbles but started a back to work course with a lovely group of ladies in the same situation and this is a lot more intense than I ever thought it would be so time is one big luxury atm. Hopefully new job is just around the corner, I'm a deliberately being 'head in the sand' as the reality is a bit tough to deal with so doing it my way. Right better stop procrastinating and get back to what I should be doing which is studying for my accountancy exam.
